Would you like a Bounty HuntingBrotherhood contract system i

I don't know if anyone here has ever played Star Wars Galaxies. Yes Galaxies not Old Republic. Galaxies was a sandbox MMO and one of my favorite things about SWG was bounty hunting. I truly felt like a bounty hunter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nd6kySBntQ. Anyway in SWG you had to be have chosen the Bounty Hunter profession meaning that Bounty Hunting was exclusive to the class. I have always loved the lore of the Dark Brotherhood and ESO has the unique opportunity to truly capture the feel of contract killing.

http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/So_You_want_to_be_a_Bounty_Hunter#II._Player_Bounty_Hunting Setting a bounty was very simple and to set one you had to...
  • Declare "Special Forces" and then engage in Player-vs.-Player combat.
  • As players engage in PvP battles, they will automatically accumulate credits on their total bounty.
  • Any bounty hunter can then take a player bounty mission from the bounty hunter terminal (bounty hunters will not know the names of specific characters by taking these missions).
  • These missions are anonymous. The Bounty Hunter knows only that he is hunting another player the faction alignment of their mark.
We never knew who we were hunting or where there located it all took time to find the bounty. It was a brilliant system that made you feel like Boba Fett.

Now this is what I was thinking. Elder Scrolls Online has Matt Frior it's safe to assume pvp will be a HUGE part of the endgame (love DAoC) so it wouldn't make sense to ask a player to place a bounty everytime they died. Imagine though something like a person is camping your body and you feel like getting some revenge all we'd have to do is say the perform the Black Sacrament. The Dark Brotherhood in ESO would have a sanctuary in Skyrim, Morrowind etc. with random contracts from all over Tamriel so players could never easily find their mark without a little detective work. A contract ofcourse would require gold, items, weapons or gear as payment and the assassin looking for contract would be able to pick and choose their contracts based on whoever is offering the most coin and only a maximum of three contracts person assassin.

While I haven't thought of all the details this is something that I really miss about Star Wars Galaxies. It was a brilliant system that I could spend alot of time doing and no MMO has ever been able to capture that feeling least of all Old Republic. When I first saw the developer diary and they said they were going to have just one mega server I first thought of a bounty hunting system in ESO with one server and how amazing that could be. Now I know having bounty hunting/contracts exlusive to the Dark Brotherhood would piss some people off it's also a good reason for Zenimax to give other guilds something special and no I don't have any details on how Fighter's Guild, Mage's Guild or Dark Brotherhood I'm just spitballing here but since all three were founded in the 2nd era I'm hoping we can join any one group at a time per character.

Would like some feedback to see if people are interested.

Player bounties? Sign me up :D It would just have to be designed in such a way that it couldn't be exploited.

I played SWG and yes the bounty system was great, i'm testing a game called Age Of Wushu as we speak and it has a great bounty system but also a kidnapping system. Like SWG it's a sandbox MMO which allows for that type of game play, do you think a themepark MMO like TESO is going to have these types of systems.

I really can't see it to be honest.

Honestly I don't see it bu maybe if there was enough interest who knows? If there is one thing Matt Firor knows it's pvp and he would be the man to make it work in a themepark setting. You say you played SWG so I think it's safe to assume you're all for it even if you have your doubts yes?

EDIT: I've also been very interested in Age of Wushu. You wouldn't happen to have an access code to give out would you?

Well how it works in Age Of Wushu is like this.

It's a sandbox MMO and FFA open world PVP with no safe areas. When you log out in AOW you don't actually leave the game world you become an NPC who can open a stall and sell your items or just standing around in the game world. Another PK can then kidnap you and put you in a sack and then sell you to a merchant who is not the same faction as the player you just kidnapped.

Once you kidnap another player you will have a bounty on your head which gives rewards.
