Would you please shut up

I'm trying to hear plot exposition and dialog, and random NPCs keep walking up and talking over it. I walk down streets and I can hear people telling me their life stories as I run by. It's just starting to get a little annoying.

If you cut their heads off before talking, they will be much quieter.

Same. Even with subtitles it's hard discerning who is talking to who and what they are talking about. I am using X11 gaming headsets from Turtlebeach, ABSOLUTE nightmare when you can literally hear everyone talking at once and lose track with the person you are actually engaged with.

Sometimes I think managing this maze of dialogue is more challenging than beating your first dragon.

No need to be rude about that. It's a nice feature in the game.

I'm about to cut Sapphire's face off.

Yeah I'm standing 15 feet away and looking at someone else, stop telling me that that dude doesn't owe you any money!

I hate when i try and listen to a couple npcs having an interesting conversation and some dumb npc walks by and stops to talk. I can't hear the people i am trying to listen to over this butthole and i can't read the subtitles because they are replaced with this buttholes talking. All this great dialog in this game and it gets completely ruined by stupid idle talk from random npcs walking by.

I agree. All other NPCs should be muted while you're talking to someone else.

Oh, and if you enter your house while they're muttering at you, they ENTER YOUR HOUSE to finish what they were muttering.

Stay outta my house! :toughninja:

LOL,I hate when this happens xD

I also had a rare case where the sound effect for gaining a shout was so loud,I couldnt hear what Agneir(sp?) was saying

This eventually led me to turn on subtitles, and as a cool side effect,I can actually read what the dragons are saying and everytime they use a shout, the text appears :)

My biggest issue is the weird effects that sometimes happen when an NPC is talking to you, or to someone near you, for the quests, and it sounds like they're around the corner or far away, so they end up being really quiet despite being only 3 feet away...I understand if they are "talking away from you" or farther away, they will sound different, but for me it sounds like they are 20 feet away when this happens, not 2 feet away...

There's one way - come closer to npc you want to listen, all others will be much quieter. ;)

Kinda makes me miss the old days, when your eye balls would pop out of your head, and time would stop as you conversed with people.

Problem is you cant walk while talking to an NPC directly. Only move the camera.

u can't always do that.. sometimes the dialog is forced and standing a long way from u. thats also one of the reasons i won't use companions. all the random speeches over and over again while talking to another nps.

Only problem is when sitting near npcs talking and someone else talks the subtitles get replaced.

But i agree with what someone else said, when i am talking to someone EVERYONE else should be muted, 99% of the time i cant hear what quest npcs say at all. Also can't stand when listening when a Jarl is giving a speech and you stand near another npc and that npc you are near wont shut up so you move then another npc wont shut up.
