Wow! You can defend your home form skeevers!

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 7:21 am

At first I was disappointed about Hearthfire. I was hoping for a new landmass, unique and creative with new items, enemies, dungeons etc. I despaired when I saw Bethesda's gimmicky sims add-on.

But then I watched the trailer a second time, and noticed something that eluded me in the first viewing: you defend your home from skeevers!

Sweat beaded at my brow. Nervous anticipation rippled through my limbs until building to a crescendo of longing. My heart, beating faster than a triathelete's, yearned with every pump for the excitement sure to come. Was my character powerful enough? Will I be prepared for this? Should I start a new, more balanced character to handle the skeevers?

And Giants, and kidnappers, and other trouble making degenerates of the sort. You know what they should add in Hearthfire? Mousetraps. Place them in your basemant, no more Skeever problem. I just hope that the random troubles that go on at your home don't go overboard where you have to check on your house every so often. That would become an annoyance.

EDIT: Wait, this isn't a serious thread isn't it?

Wow really? Awesome for you, But Im thinking that the random giants and the skeevers will be the same problem as the random vampire attacks....Just remember that the blood and bodies and banged around pots.......etc will remain that way.

I can't wait for them to tell us how much time and money they spent tweaking the Skeever animations.

He is an addict. To skooma.

This DLC may give us insight on how one was once able to keep a skeever as a pet.

I want to befriend the giants, not become enemies with them. Hope we have the opportunity to create a truce/trade agreement with them so we don't have to kill them all the time. That'd be annoying.

I also don't like the fact that it sounds like we're going to be forced to be back at our homes all the time to deal with these problems, so I hope they aren't as major "features" as the trailer is making it out to be.

We're going to have to detain you, sir. We have reason to believe you've been taking copious amounts of skooma, as well as illegally smuggling moonsugar.

Pass the skooma pipe. The 'Good Skooma Pipe', not Tsiya's piece of garbage.

I heard the skeever boss is a wereskeever. His loot is truly amazing. He can drop skeever tail, some gold, and even a partially chewed cheese wheel!

A Wereskeever! We'd better get some online co-op. There is no way I can handle that alone.

I'd assume that they appear as you approach your house, so they won't be a problem unless you go there - and even then there'd only be a chance, it's not definite that enemies will be there. The 'major features' that come with a great deal of responsibility would be children, and that makes sense.
