I am writing an essay on different leadership styles

Post » Mon Dec 03, 2012 2:23 am

And I am tasked with - in my essay - to give 3 small examples of 3 different kinds of leaderships used by real leaders.

I have completed two of my examples, however I am really having trouble on Laissez-faire. I have done so much reading and researching on this and I just can't find any famous leaders who operated with this leadership style. Does anybody have ANY examples what so ever? It would REALLY help me out, I am aiming for the highest grade possible and my lecturer has had a look at an earlier draft and I am just one example away from achieving this goal. So hopefully with the help from you guys, I can achieve this : - )

Thanks so much in advance

Laissez-faire? What is that style about?

Wait, I looked it up. Isn't it somewhat like the free, liberal market that's so big in Europe these days? The theory that the market will stabilise itself if it's without restrictions?

Hm, I did a presentation on leadership earlier this year, including the Lassez Faire thing. I'll see if I can dig it up, and maybe find an example you need.

In a way, yes. Laissez-faire literally means hands off. You don't interfere much in the affairs of anything.

Sorry, I should of explained. A laissez-faire manager/leader is somebody who often (or not in some cases) knows precisely what his employees/followers are good at and puts them in the correct roles and leaves them to it. A laissez faire hardly ever interferes and must often be approached if problems arise, rather than vice versa. It is french for "let them be" or "let them do what they will".

Well, if that's the case, wouldn't the economic leadership of the European Union be a good example? Germany or France, for example?
