Okay, they're in the right folder, that's a good start

What tab are you looking at in Wrye Bash, though?

Oops! I'll take the blame for your issue. I have been sick since Friday evening so I have not spent much time online. I am feeling a bit better and have the day off tomorrow so tonight Ill finish up the guide to include some pictures and make the changes that Martigen stated. Once the pictures are up their should be no question as to what is required of you once you have the files formatted correctly and placed into the correct folder.

@ Dawwe---Hmm that certainly looks correct but have you switched over to the installer tab once inside of Wrye Bash?

I already have a ton of mods installed, does this matter?

Here's a couple of screenshots, if that helps:

All was packed into .rar files by me, using winrar.

Hmm...it all seems to be in order.

Try right clicking somewhere in the installers tab and choose 'refresh data'.

If that doesn't work, check in skyrim/mopy/bash/compiled wether you find 7z.dll and similar files there.

He's got it in Program Files. Not sure if that is doing this, but it's still an issue I notice.

Hmm, I found the problem... turns out I had to right-click in the installers tab and choose enable.

Dawwe: Make sure in the Installers Tab, when you right click on a column, that 'Enabled' is selected. If not, BAIN won't show anything.

If that doesn't solve it, you can PM me or pop over to the Wrye Bash thread and we can figure it out.

Also, Wrye Bash won't know which mods are installed, unless you've installed them with Wrye Bash. It'll be able to tell if the data files match what's in your installers, but it won't know for sure if they're installed or not. In general though, if your installer shows up with a empty green, yellow, or orange checkbox, that means all the data files are installed. Green means they're exactly matched, yellow means the same filenames, but different actual files (probably overwritten by another installer), and orange is the same, but for plugins.

It would be nice if I could tell Wrye Bash that a mod has been installed. Wrye will show me the matched files from the mod, along with conflicts and so on -- the "installed" flag is mostly for my benefit.

Right now, I can approximate this, using "install missing". But quite often that introduces junk that I would rather not be there (and maybe I go in and delete that stuff manually but I wish I had a cleaner alternative).

Playing at the laptop atm, soon ill have a computer that will alow me to play on max settings. laptop is using NMM for mods, so wich is better. NMM or Wbash, so i know what to use when i get my machine.
Im completly anolfabetic regarding computer programs, installing i can do but when people start zipping left and right, adding folders removing files and possibly renaming.extensions you might aswell speak chinese to me, i will understand just as well.

You see essentially the programs are doing the same thing, but NMM is much riskier down the road due to things it simply cannot do. Ultimately your going to have to ensure your directories are correctly laid out either way. Wrye Bash is as simple as dragging and dropping as long as the folders are correctly sorted. You have fallen prey to one of the most common misconceptions, that Wrye Bash is too complex for the average user. There is no renaming, even at its most complex, a Wrye Bash install only requires extracting a zipped folder ( most downloads come in zip( either .7z, .rar, .zip; just different compression styles) or an .exe ( and exexutable that can be double clicked and will install for you) ) , opening up the folder and then deleting files, dragging and dropping files, and or repacking the folder. Its simple, and if you plan on doing any modding, neccesary.

Ive got a question and I′m not sure whether this should go into a new thread since its my first post here on these forums...

Since I′m a beginner at working with Wrye Bash (installed it two weeks ago and I′m trying to build up a heavily modded Oblivion on my second computer) I thought I might just post here since I′m now wondering about Skyrim ...

Until now I′m using NMM for modding Skyrim and it worked quite well. Now that the first Questmods and other more complex mods are beeing released Im thinking about changing over to Wrye Bash (also I′m at over 50 mods now, I think...). But since I really like the way in which NMM shows you whether a mod has been updated I′m wondering whether I can use both Mod-Tools together or maybe if i missed the display of this kind of information in Wrye Bash until now?

Is it possible to use NMM and Wrye Bash both at once?
I′m thinking about setting the Mod-Folder of NMM to the same folder that Wrye Bash uses: Skyrim Mods\Bash Installers.
I could then just leave all packages inactive inside NMM but still see whether my version numbers match the most current ones on SkyrimNexus.
If I made my BAIN installers myself (if necessary) and kept the "ID plus Version Number" at the end of the 7zip-file like in the original downloads file NMM would still be able to check version numbers, wouldnt it?

I would then like to use Wrye Bash and BOSS for all the installation processes and for getting my load order straight and for the bashed patch.
Next question is whether both Managers would somehow conflict since there is also the plugins-Tab in NMM which I would NOT use to check/uncheck plugins, but maybe they would still confict?

Also I′m still a bit "worried" about the Mods-Tab in Wrye Bash. I still dont really understand which esps/esm to check before proceeding on to creating the bashed patch and the way in which the bashed patch selects/or deselects them after completion ist also still a mystery to me. I would really appreciate it if someone had a link to a Guide concering how the the Bashed patch works "in simple terms" and which esm/sp-files to Tag beforehand.
Does the selection also depend on the color in which the esp/esm ist shown in the list?

To give you a better idea of where I′m standing: For the last two weeks I read the following Guides/Threads but didn′t find anything on the question about the Mod-Tab in Wrye bash there
(Maybe the links will also help others to better understand Wrye Bash even if they are targeted at a modded Oblivion):

Since I cant post links I′ll just give you the title of what I already read.

Wrye Bash pictorial Guide by alt3rn1ty on TesNexus
(Great Guide but for me a bit much all at once in some sections. Really great because of the screenshots and it made sense once I read the following stuff)

Wrye Bash Readme (The online version, I didnt read ALL of it yet ^^)

"Bashed Patch" on UESP Wiki

Psymons Thread "Bain mod Iinstallation Projects" her on the forums.

Psymons Thread: Custom BAIN Projects

On the FCOM Convergence for Oblivion:
here on the forum: relz-fcom-convergence
The FCOM_Installation_Guide on the Tescosi Site

Somehow I alwys felt I got to the "more complicated" Guides before I really had a grasp of the basics ... so as I said, I′d really appreciated links to Guides covering the Mods-Tab directed at beginners ^^.

And one last question (searching the forum didnt turn up anything for "switching NMM Wrye Bash"):

If I wanted to port my Mod Installations from NMM to WryeBash would I have to deactivate all of them in NMM before moving the zipped Files into the Folder "Skyrim Mods\Bash Installers". Then I′d have to reinstall them via Wrye Bash if I′m correct. Or would Wrye recognise them as installed once the zip-files are in the Bash Installers-Folder?

My guess is that the best way to a clean modded Skyrim would be the following:

- complete uninstall in NMM
- inspection and a repackaging of alle the zip files to make BAINs (keep Nexus ID Numbers)
- move zips into Bash Installers - Folder
- Install via Wrye Bash (and make Bashed patch)
- Use BOSS for Load Order Corrections
- Change the folder checked in NMM to Bash Installers so I can see what I need to update.

Still I′m hoping you can present me with a less cumbersome way to do this, at least for BAIN Ready archives...
If not I′ll just do the above so please correct me if any of the above steps are wrong

Thanks for reading my very first post here, I hope my english is good enough for you to understand where I have problems with Wrye Bash ^^

Greetings,
Altaya

Thanks, Psymon !

I tried that. Actually I spent the whole last afternoon and this whole morning setting everything up but the Game runs smoothly now and I have everything in Wrye AND NMM :)

Since derari asked people to tell him their experiences with the programm I also wrote about how changing over to Wrye Bash with his "Adapter Tool" went for me.

If anyone is interested to read that just check his Thread "[REl] NMM to Wrye Bash Adapter "

Might maybe help some other new Wrye Users.

Greetings,
Altaya

Just a note to say that the modsreloaded.com link in the OP is not an official hosting location. I wouldn't include it because it's liable to be outdated and isn't supported by the Wrye Bash devs.

Yes, Bach is indeed very technical. Only the most persistent of us can master bach.

I used Wyre bash to link my mesogea.esm to skyrim.esm because if it isnt linked the latest update to the game causes a crash to desktop and errors if I start a new game. Linking mesogea to skyrim.esm sorted this. However now I have the common problem which is that any esm linked to skyrim.esm causes save game problems. Whenever I save a game at a location in my custom world space, leaving the game and trying to load the save drops me into "Sleeping Giant Inn" back in Skyrim. Any ideas?

Two replys to tell me, in a sarcastic and misleading way, that i misspelled "Bash" but still no answer.
Is it possible to have the bash installer folder in some other directory?
