Ah yes. Thanks. I didn't even know there was an "Order" column header.

Thanks, Leonardo2.

If you don't find it I guess you didn't increase the row column quite enough so you can see clearly. Just do this place the mouse arrow over the row bar and move the mouse cursor slowly, so that you can see this " | " then hold down left button and drag it to the right.

 Thats a new one to remember, didn't realise the columns could be shrunk invisible.

@ Wrye Bash team - could those have a minimum size to prevent the columns getting hidden?

Which version you downloaded ?
Preferably go to tesnexus and download the installer for version 291
Where is your oblivion install ?
Give us the full paths

Its the installer version from tesnexus.
I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "oblivion install" (might be less complicated than I think), but I'll try to explain.

Desktop>Oblivion>Bethesda Softworks>Data>Wrye_Bash_291_Installer_Version-22368-291>$_OUTDIR>Mopy>Wrye Bash Launcher

and the pythonwin shortcut is on my desktop, along with the Wrye Python folder.

That's what I meant - now I really don't know what's this $_OUTDIR - maybe someone here knows - this installer version is a program - must have an .exe ending if you look in its properties - double click on it or right click and choose Open or Run as administrator - a dialog will pop up, let it download all it needs - let us know if you need some more explanations

ahhh this is starting to make some sense. I've found two programs: One called Wrye Python that seems to be working as it should, downloading a bunch of files and stuff and asking me to specify whether I want it to do something to my Oblivion folder. The other is called Wrye_Bash_291_Installer_Version-22368-291. When I run it, it tells me that "The installer cannot find the following requirement(s) on your computer. It is: wxPython 2.8.11.0-ansi, Python Comtypes 0.6.2, and Python Extensions for Windows (PyWin32) 214. This second application is necessary, right? How can I run it successfully?

Doesn't the installer (Wrye_Bash_291_Installer_Version-22368-291) ask you to download the files (wxPython 2.8.11.0-ansi, Python Comtypes 0.6.2, and Python Extensions for Windows (PyWin32) 214) ? Let it do it. Run the installer as admin preferably !

Nope, I only recently found out that the Wrye Bash 291 installer fails on the python setup part if Python is not installed (about half way through with long pauses followed by errors - I think the reason is the parts of python are not installed in the correct order)

So now he has a partially installed python setup, with a leftover desktop temporary folder, and the Wrye Bash Installer still wont install.

Best approach now would be ....

Go to start, control panel, and look for add remove programs

Go down the list of installed programs, and look for anything with Python in the name (even WXPython, and the comtypes installation (if it installed))
Un-install each of those that you find. Heres a screenshot of what you are looking for http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=9437499Untitled.jpg

Also Delete the temporary desktop folder which the installer created (I am assuming that is what has happened, unless you installed or moved the game installation folder to your desktop - Which would be un-usual but just checking in case you go deleting your game... never know with new users).

Now start afresh - First use the Wrye Python 03a installer (from the same place you got Wrye Bash - Dont go finding individual parts of python, the 03a installer has everything you need)

Say yes to everything it offers, and after clicking next for each part give that part chance to finish writing to your hard drive (dont just quickly click click click through it)

Once everything is complete - Now use the Wrye Bash 291 installer, if everything went okay before this stage, the Wrye Bash Installer will now recognise you have a correct python setup, skip its own incorrect python setup and install itself.

Fingers crossed that lot should sort you out :)

Once setup have a look at the links in my signature for first steps using Wrye Bash, The Basics Guide.

If you are new to modding, you might also want to have a good read of this .. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/449239-oblivion-mods-faq/

Hey, the thread about getting Bash to highlight mods BOSS marks as needing to be cleaned plus the "Always update masterlist" option I just starting gave me an idea for Bash that I haven't heard mentioned before.

Basically, I think it's be really spiffy if when the BOSS button is pressed, Bash were to read the latest BOSS Log before running BOSS, then compare that to the new log after it runs, and display a list of changes. That'd make it really easy to catch any comments on newly added mods, or anything recent/relevant additions/changes to the masterlist.

I don't know how feasible such a thing'd be, it's just a thought. Keep up the good work!

Hmm - one could want to hide them completely though - I think best leave it as it is
Thanks for helping Overfloater0323 out btw :)

EDIT lol

That now - does not sound bad at all
Indeed - reading the same info from the BOSS log over and over again is one of its weaknesses

EDIT : thanks for TesNexus fix

Would it be possible/Feesabile to have an option in the Installer to scan packages and check for Updates on NEX or TESA ?? :hubbahubba:

This is on my todo list, along with automating mod upgrades in general (e.g. moving updated mods to the appropriate spot in the install order, transferring over selections/ini settings, highlighting changes, etc.)

I noticed in the recent SVN revisions you added an option to tweak static sound attenuation levels. May I make a suggestion? Add the ability to adjust the minimum and maximum attenuation distance as well. Louder sounds are cool and all, but, specifically, when it comes to nirnroot's, it doesn't help if they are louder when you are right on top of them. It helps when they are louder AND you can hear them from further away.

I would appreciate it if you could consider this suggestion.

Those people can either shrink the columns or the Wrye Bash team has added an option to Hide / Unhide Row Column. :hehe:

agree with Leonardo, again very nice - just trying svn 955, was lost for a second looking for the usual placing of renaming an installer - Then realised the menus have had a bit of a makeover.

Also noticed the version bump recently :) - Are we getting close?

Camaro if you are happy with manual installs of Wrye Bash, and bear in mind to keep a few revisions to revert back to for the occasional fubar (though they are very few, far between and minor these days) will send you a PM shortly.

PM still has a (some?) thing(s) to do, AIPackages for CBash for sure, but maybe others. I did the version bump 'cause I was getting tired my wizards with 'RequireVersions' set at 292 giving me a warning :)
Personnally, I'm just doing random things that only take a few hours to do. I'm holding off on major stuff 'till 292 is released, so I have more time to work out bugs.

Just a small nitpicky observation.

In the OP, under "Requirements - If you want to do things manually" spoiler, it claims Wrye Python 2.6.6 is included in the Wrye Python 03a package. The package actually still contains python 2.6.5. Was it supposed to have been updated at some point?

More troubles for you lojack...

There is an ultra useful shortcut in windows (of which I learned too lately) - Cntrl + Numpad+ - which sizes all columns to fit their maximum length element and which seems to have been broken in 958

also a glitch : resizing the columns manually seems to leave a line hanging behind where the initial column limit was (IIRC this is around for a couple SVNs already)
