Wrye BashDawnguard.esm - Missing String Localization files.

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:43 pm

I hope I'm in the right forum. I wasn't sure whether to post it here or in the mods section as I'm not 100% sure if this problem is related to Dawnguard or Wrye Bash itself.

Dawnguard is highlighted red in Wrye Bash with the notice "Plugin is missing String Localization files" and I'm worried that something is wrong which would stop Dawnguard from functioning correctly.
I haven't actually tried to start the Dawnguard quest manually, as I started a new character for it and I would really like to discover it naturally. So it may actually function fine, as I'm only level 8. But I'm just concerned that something went wrong during the installation, I have a pretty strict download limit and re-downloading Dawnguard could put me in danger of going over.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone else is getting this and if there is anything to be worried about.

no i just made a post earlier I am getting the same thing, its weird though I just ran Skyrim through steam and played for awhile and it worked fine no crashes no nothing and an NPC even told me about the dawnguard, which starts the DLC. But I can't get the red highlight to go away and BOSS says that everything is fine, I don't know what to do

How did you find out that it said it was missing string localiztion files, i couldnt get any response whatsoever

I tried to run it with SKSE this time and it worked, I tried to fast travel but I think I'm having an issue at loading screens its just taking forever to load, I keep having to pull up my windows task manager and exit skyrim that way in order to reboot skyrim and play again, I think its unrelated to whats going on with dawnguard and the 1.7 download but I'm not sure.

It's odd why it wouldn't work before using SKSE then after getting it to work only through Steam, going back to SKSE worked, just very corky and annoying

I get that same problem too (having to use task manager to end Skyrim on load screens), but I've been experiencing it before Dawnguard. I assume it's mod-related as mods have always made TES a little unstable at times. The Wrye Bash thing may just be because the latest version was released before Dawnguard. But if you say you can get it to work I'm not too worried. It says what the problem is along the bottom of Wrye Bash (next to all the launch buttons) if you hover over dawnguard.esm. But as I said, if it's working like you said then it's probably just Wrye Bash needing an update.

Thanks for letting me know.

I'm also seeing Dawnguard.esm highlighted red in Wrye Bash. I'm not getting any CTD's, but I've been experiencing huge performance losses ever since installing Dawnguard (major stuttering, etc.). I'm currently trying to figure out if it's a mod conflict issue.

yeah I had to launch it with Steam first and then I played for like five minutes without issues, backed out and then ran it through my SKSE launcher and it worked I've been running it through ever since and playing for awhile but the load screens are killing me I can't really fast travel and I get lucky if I make it through a load door. I think my issue with loading is a performance thing as well but Dawnguard is my only new addition as far as mod/dlc goes I was fine before Dawnguard, I also played without Dawnguard activated for a little while and I was back to normal
