XBL update

Will I have to turn off my xbox for the XBL marketplace to update?

No. I find it easiest to launch Netflix or a game, then dashboard it.

You can keep checking xbox.com for it also. Usually things are on there first, before the dashboard marketplace.

I thought just pressing the xbox button on the controller , then the (Y) button refreshes it.

It shows it, but when it's up to download it'll have the download button.
