xbox 360 & Skyrim?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 8:17 am

- how is it running on the 360?

- is there the same lag problems as the ps3?

- how bad is the texture streaming problem?

- when running off the disc is there a ton of slowdown?

- does the framerate drop after you play for long periods of time? 4+ hours?

I might buy a 360...... mainly for Skyrim and some of the exclusives that i have yet to play.....

I personally have had very minor problems on my ps3.... but I am only at 7500 kb save files.....I have heard that when it goes over 10000 kb the game becomes a slide show.... I have yet to see this... but if it happens I will buy a 360

I have never had fps drops, and the texture issue is pretty bad for me.

The texture issue is pretty bad but you can avoid it by not installing the game to the hard drive, or installing it on a USB flash drive (edit: okay, don't use a USB). But it may persist even with those tricks.
I have not noticed any lag, except for when opening menus there is a slight delay.
Running it off the disc will make load times longer.
Most of these problems will probably be ironed out during the next patch though.

Oh and most importantly, if you have an SDTV you should avoid playing Skyrim on it altogether. The text is unreadable and the HUD is severely cut off on all the edges. Bethesda says they are not working on this particular issue.

EDIT: Oh, and most shadows in the game look really blocky; another thing I hope they fix in the next patch.

Just annoying really, but im not too bothered since it will be fixed soon. i have had no lag/freeze issues and my games installed just so the xbox does not go nuclear.

Edit: dont do the flash drive to be honest, people who post that their game save's and game install have been wiped all have 1 thing in common - flash drives.

Depends on the standards of the player i guess =) I have the texture issue aswell..with everything as far as i can tell,im not really sure. Ignorance is bliss in this case. The most noticeable textures issue,to me,are in snowy areas..anything snow covered is just horribly muddy/pixelated and theres generally low textures all around i assume, with NPC's and the game-world. However im not sure..perhaps thats the way the game is meant to be? Its been that way from the start for me and i never thought otherwise until i came here and also when i saw the aformentioned snowy areas.

Overall its running fine for me,im playing it off the HDD since running it off the disk would probaly melt my xbox lol Oblivion did the same funnily enough lol I havent encountered any lag either..except for a few minor stutters here and there when the game is loading textures in while im on the move, but its nothing immersion-breaking.

The biggest threat as always with games of this size are the game breaking NPC/quest glitches, but im pretty sure thats a cross-platform thing lol Most of which can usually be avoided with clever saving and thinking ahead =)
