So I've had laser issues for nearly a year now, but they were normally held off by cleaning the laser every few months. However, last time I cleaned the laser it still refused to work. My dad then cleaned it later that day, still no joy.
Basically, it wont acknowledge that disks are in the tray. If a game wouldn't actually work, it would say the disk was unreadable during the game. However, I have to keep opening and closing the tray 100+ times to get games to work. And when they do, there's at least a 70% chance it says "Disk unreadable" before the game actually fires up.
The strange thing is, however, that Halo 4 and Skyrim will work about 70% of the time, rarely saying "Open tray" or "Unreadable", but the rest of my games wont read.
Skyrim I've had for nearly two years, so there's a touch of wear-and-tear on the disk, but no more than my other games. And Halo 4 is in fine condition.
But the games that wouldn't play I took to a friends house to try them out, and they all worked fine (except for Dragon Age: Origins which actually does have a big scratch).
So, a new laser will apparently cost £35. But what I don't get is why does my XBOX seem to pick favourites with Skyrim and Halo? Lucky for me they're my two favourite games but still, it's strange.
And ideas?
