Xbox, console tab?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 5:14 pm

This is not a post on why their should be one or how much i would like one. Without :flamethrower: xbox/ps3, why can they not handle a console tab? what make's them so different, we can still type code with the controller Or could a xbox/ps3 handle it but they just do not add it.

Well, players could incorrectly use the in-game console and could potentially damage their 360/PS3.

PC console ~ menu that can enter codes to that is used by BGS to test the game.

As said it can potentially break your game and your system.

And if you could accidentally launch the US nuclear stockpile.

Thanks for the answers, i was unaware that it could damage the system. I used the console for oblivion when i played and i never saw how it could damage my computer but that's simple because i never tried anything big.

overloading like spawning 50 NPC's in one area and if they are mage characters in combat well let's just say your computer (either it be PC or console) will NOT be happy

Breaking the game? That's a given.

Breaking the system? Uh... No. You can't really break your computer using the console, either. Just the game. And it's not really "broken." You've just mucked it up so much with tweaks that you need to re-install to clean it out and go back to default.

it would allow you to change the code, some one could use it as a back door in to their 360/PS3, not a good combo. you could even put in an editor on a flash or HDD and crack the game/system wide open.
they do have it for both its called modding, and it would not be as fun. if you could have say 256 skill points at the start would you re frame from using it, i know i would have to take an arrow in the hand to stop me from that one, and any usb key board works with 360/PS3 an yes i tried no go dont waist your time.
moral if you want cc get it for the pc

D... Do you even understand how the command console works? I'm gonna say "no" because you mention that the console systems also have access to game mods. They don't. Not unless you've modded the system itself already.

You can't change code. You can't use it as a backdoor. It simply allows you to alter some variables for hard-coded parameters. You can't change/remove/add parameters themselves through the command console. You can only execute the pre-programmed commands it has available. You couldn't even launch BAT files to hack the system itself, because it would require you to already have access to the system's hard drive. Not to mention those BAT files it uses, will only execute known command console commands; the same commands you can use in-game.

The worst that could happen is some guy tries to use a code to spawn a million cheese wheels and his game locks up. Easily fixed by the "reset" button.

Two Worlds 2 did it just fine for the consoles. Be it is a different game, still. So long as someone is smart about their use with the console, it would be just fine. Who cares if you overload it? You learn, restart, reload, continue playing knowing what to not do. It wouldn't break the Terms, either. It's not like you can obtain anything outside the original content.

If you want to go the lengths, you can take your 360 save and convert it to a pc save. Edit it via command on the pc, revert it to the 360's format, and play on it. But, I don't have a computer that can run Skyrim. It would be nice if we had access to the console, though.

I was not asking because of a need to cheat i was asking because their is a list of quests i am screwed out of because beth does not know how to sell a working product, and before you say "should be useing a PC" THIS ARGUMENT DOES NOT WORK. i should not have to buy a PC because Beth is selling a broken product. Sorry i hear that one too much.

You can use Usb keyboards on the 360 I think, and even if you can't there's the lesser known chatpad which you can use to type. As for ToS, Sonic the Hedgehog 1 has a cheat console and you can buy that game on XBL Arcade.

You can connect a keyboard to the PS3.
The xbox360 had a $30 text pack you attach to the bottom of the controller.
 I don't see why they shouldn't put in a console tab for console players.

no people are overreacting.

you could completely screw up your saves, plus it would render achievement services broken.
you could spawn too much of something and freeze your game ect.
on PC its your damn fault when something doesnt work and its an expected part of PC gaming to know your rigs limit. if you spawn 200 dragons and your game gets corrupted you should have backed up your saves lol.

sorry i was not saying you want to cheat, i got tons of stuff stuck in my guy, i would like it as well. i was just trying to tell you why they wont do it. didnt mean to insult you, as for the working product....
all game comps for the last few years have been doing this, its about money so we are their beta testers. some times it works some time well, you get a patch that kills your rest. and you dont know it and a dragon kills you in like 10 sec, or you spend forever sneaking up on a bandit camp and are about to take a shot when your trusty steed runs past you and your like wtf, next thing you know your on fire and fighing bandits and a dragon wile your horse is getting away scott free. and yes i rode it of a cliff after that and now feel the need to kill all horses i see, even the ones with nobles on their back. i have had to do a lot of sleep overs with the guards over that oath but it beats being on fire fighting for your life while you swear your horse is laughing at you.

Lol about the horse. sorry for coming off strong but when most people start talking about why the pc gets it and not the other systems, the argument turns into why i should have got a pc.
of all the games i have played... ever. skyrim towers over them with glitches, i do not recall playing a game with even 1/10 as many glitches as i have run into in skyrim so it kind of svcks. then we have all these people telling us we should have got the game on pc so we could fix it and get patches... it's a pain.

Oh well, you can get mods to spawn NPCs on xbox any way. maybe not on Skyrim yet though.

Just posting. Not Sure Whats been said.

I remember seeing an interview with Todd Howard where he says the xbox and ps3 can handle the construction kit, but Microsoft and Sony didn't want it released with the game. Don't know why, console mods would make the game 10x more playable both in length and content.

Because these two companies make their money off downloads. everything that xbox offers costs money in some way, i cannot even join a chat party without xbox old. I think they simple looked at it as "if we let people create content we could be missing out on DLC money".
