Okay,when i started skyrim... The controls was all messed up! what is happening :'( I could only move with the RIGHT stick!? and i could only look around with the LEFT stick!! wtf bethesda i am so sad,i am even thinking of selling my game!.And i tried and tried to fix it,but no no,it does not work,in oblivion you could at least reset controls,but why cant i change it to normal? please help!!! :'(

Check your settings

On your Xbox, go to Profile - Game Defaults - Action.
Try changing the setting there.

I don't understand what your issue is. Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas have the EXACT same controller set up, right stick to walk forward, back and side step and right stick to look around. Every first person game on any console has this same configuration!

I think you need to think about this again. The left stick ALWAYS moves your character, in any game ever on the Xbox 360. Doesn't matter if it's a third or fist person game. The right stick moves the camera.

I like to play with southpaw configuration (move with right stick, view on left stick). Don't ask me why, how i can use buttons, etc...
In a game like Skyrim, we use the sticks and triggers at 100% during the game so i think this is totaly logical to allow sticks personnalisation.

Every AAA games have this options: Rage, all CODs, etc... but not for Bethesda games (Fallout 3 and NV).

In Skyrim all buttons can be personnalize but not the sticks. all the work is all ready done, just need to select an option to swap sticks.

Please, Bethesda, do something. I can play your games but i lost lot of fun because of that.

I have the same problem.

I just registered on these forums to ask why, if you can map the other buttons, can we not swap the sticks? Oblivion had options for lefties.

Hopefully someone at Bethesda fixes this problem, or I'm not going to be able to play this game (which would be very disappointing).

I have resolve the issue for the southpaw !

XBox Guide -> Profil -> default value for games -> Action -> change the move parameter to right stick (translate from french)

And it's works !
Now i have view on left and move on right

Go into skyrim controls and hit Y to set to default. This should fix the problem of the sticks being left handed. Hope this helps everyone!

Funny thing is that I've owned an xbox for years, played many games on it including all of the elder scroll series available for xbox and this is the first time an xbox profile setting, expecially this setting, has caused a game problem. Why did Bethesda suddenly decide to use xbox profile settings? I also agree with other posters in various threads that we should be able to change our controls easily. My having to shut the game off after a very frustrating hour just to go internet searching for a quick fix is absurd. I almost, very close, went into Amazon and a few other sites to voice a blistering opinion about how the game was unplayable.

As for you trolls who like to bash posters who have legitimate problems, you should have your lollipops taken away for a week. Actually, I think you should be banned, but I'll let the moderators decide that. You certainly were not part of the solution, so that makes you part of the problem.
