Xbox hotkeys

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 2:39 pm

So im a litte confused about the hotkey system on the xbox 360.

I understand that we have the favourite menu and that you can use left and right on the d-pad to assign two hotkeys. However when i assign spells to right d-pad button, and than try to use it, it always goes to my left hand. It seems that the game favourites the left hand over the right hand.

Is this just a glitch or is it meant to be this way?

If so this is very disappointing

Any thoughts on this?

I haven't tried the hotkeys yet... I really love the favorites menu... Just brilliant. I use that to change which hand I am wielding spells and weapons with. Most of the time if i am switching back and forth between weapons (ie. bow and weapon with shield) the game seems to remeber how I had them laid out previously... Of course not being able to use a shield in the right hand might be part of that equation.

I also think the favourite menu is awesome! But i feel it cuts out a lot of action if i rely on it all the time( constantly stopping the game to switch spells). I just wish when i assigned a hotkey to the right d-pad button, it would bring the spell up on the right hand instead of always going to my left hand.

Hmm, I hotkey my shield and a healing spell which I both want in my left hand. I do know that if I press the hotkey for the spell twice I get it in the left hand first and the right second. So hotkeys probably favor the left hand

It took me about 6 hours to figure out how to Hot Key on the D Pad. I still don't think how it works, but I guess know it makes sense when it goes to the left hand first. I am use to it now so no big deal for me now.

That is unfortunate. I wish it was Left d-pad hotkey=left hand. and right d-pad hotkey=right hand

Anyone else have more information on this?

would be greatly appreciated

You must have the item equipped to the left hand, or perhaps you did when you set the hotkey.

The game guide says you just hold down the left or right button on the D-Pad while you have the item selected in the favorites menu, meaning the menu accessed by pressing up or down on the D-Pad. :D

Out of curiosity, is it the limitations of the Xbox controller why we are missing the 9 and 0 hotkeys?

Since there are not 5 way pads, they just left out 9 and 0 from the PC version of the game?

I realize Up and Down are reserved for the Favorites menu, but why not allow us to use the diagonal slots, like in Oblivion? They were a colossal pain in the butt for someone with huge fingers like myself, but I eventually got the hang of it.

i agree plus what is the point of having up and down do the same thing? why not give us another hotkey...
