Xbox Live Rewards

Is anyone else here a member of Xbox Live Rewards? I was just looking it over again and it's actually pretty cool. If you have a Live subscription all you have to do is sign up for the rewards program at no cost or anything.

I don't know when I first signed up, but by doing and completing certain things through the xbox every month you're awarded microsoft points or other things like avatar items, redeemable codes for add-ons of a game of your choice or an arcade game. After each month you're emailed a rewards statement telling you how much you earned or what it is you earned the previous month.

Like I said, i'm not sure when I signed up but my most recent rewards statement said I earned 190 microsoft points in December and have currently earned in a total of 1610 to date, not including the 190. That many points is the equivalent of over $20. It's not a mind blowing sum but it's nicer than having spent that $20. I've also earned several codes. A few avatar items, two codes for two 800 point or lower arcade games of my choosing, one 800 point add-on of my choice and most recently I got some code to unlock something in Halo 4 but I have yet to use it and I don't know what it is. On your birthday they give you a gift and mine was just two weeks ago and that's where one of the arcade games came from. They also reward you for your gamerscore. 3,000GS considers you a "contender", 10,000 makes you a "champion" and 25,000 or over qualifies you as a "legend". I can't find all the rewards that come with each of those so I can't list them right this second but my GS is just above 27,000 and I know one reward makes anything purchased off the marketplace set at a discounted price. Which is very helpful because I buy a lot of stuff. You can look at the website and I guess there's always lists of tasks you can complete in order to earn a preset amount of points which they tell you how much it'll be. I've never once purposefully went out to complete any task and I didn't even know they existed until now so I can say that it is possible to earn significant points without ever doing those.

I find the rewards program to be quite useful. Anyone else a member?
