Sorry if this has been posted before. This is my first post. I've just bought Skyrim for my 360 and downloaded Dawnguard. The trouble is that absolutely every menu I enter, wether its a chest, looting bodies, favourites, levelling up, I can't scroll for at least 10 seconds. I can select items etc but can't go up or down. This is really spoiling the game for me. I traded in my ps3 copy so I could play dawnguard and to be honest my ps3 very very rarely lagged at any point in the game. Im having a worse experience on the 360. Does anyone know a way round this?

IDK if the game is new for the 360, the only times I have had this happen is when I had way to many saves and needed to clear my cashe. Skyrim and Dawnguard are both downloaded? Their should be enough room on the hard drive, even if you don't have the extra storage drive for both games. Old games that didn't get deleted? I would try un-installing them both then re-installing, 1st skyrim and make sure their is no lag, then Dawnguard.

Only other thing I can think of is to ask on the platform specific forum, someone their may have better answers. Gook Luck

Do what the guy above said, and also there is a bug where some items like keys will clone themselves many hundred times, causing the game to lag, you should check your inventory.

Thanks for the tips. I've literally just started a new game. I'm level 6 and that's the only save file I have for skyrim on my HDD. I also have 110GB of space on my HDD with Dawnguard downloaded and installed. I've been scouring the net and found other with the same problem. Their advice is to button bash until it works or put up with or wait for a patch. It's actually that laggy that I had to turn it off in frustration. PS3 all is forgiven! I might just wait and hope dawnguard comes out for PS3 soon ????

I have like 2 keys and half a dozen weapons and armour. I've learnt from the PS3 to try and keep my save file as small as possible to stop lag. This can't be the issue as I've just started the game. Sad times.

I don't know why people say the skyrim for 360 has bugs mine never had a bug or froze on me and i play non stop since it came whats the deal.

That's one of the reasons I bought it for Xbox. All I heard was how great it was. Bug free, better graphics etc. the game does seem to have better graphics and it doesn't lag if you sprint down a hill too fast but the second I open a menu, boom, I have to wait about 10 seconds before I can scroll down. And this happens in every menu. It got old very quickly. I've discovered I'm not the only one with this problem on the 360. I'm thinking it may be because I have the older elite console. Perhaps it's not as fast. Who knows????

I believe I experienced the same lag as you when I was on 360 before PC. And holy Sh**ttocks is that lag a nuissance. What you need to do, is to move the joystick around and direction and then the D-pad should become fully operational. I can't believe they still haven't fixed that.

EDIT: Move then joystick around when you're in the menu and it should free up your D-PAD
