I really want this game but wont be able to afford a monthly subscription on top of the Xbox Live Gold i pay monthly.
no matter what, there will be a $15 sub. the only thing that would change is the Xbox live payment, which you would not need to play eso. OR at least that was the plan, but Microsoft is being Microsoft and making xbox one users pay for the Xbox live payment to play ESO. Why would you waste your money on such an obvious money grab as the Xbox one is beyond me, but yeah, you will have to pay $15 no matter what and $5 for live.
Sony resided the $5 payment for their service requirement for ESO and you do not need their premium service to play ESO, you just have to pay the $15 sub.
Edit: Nevermind I understood your post wrong.
You will have to pay $15 a month no matter what to play TESO. Zenimax is trying to let their console users play without having to pay even more to play on consoles, but as far as I know only Sony is willing to allow that.
I pay 60 bucks a year for my sons xbox live gold sub card he gets one every christmas it is really not that much money.
possibly, we have no idea other than it will be $15 as the basic monthly one and that there will be multiple options
1 month 6 month and 12 month model, standard for mmos the have sub model
I'd almost bet money that there will be several month packages that are cheaper than the base price, but they haven't broken down the pricing yet. They just said there would be more details about that stuff later on.
Plus, if you have an Xbox and are a console player its not very likely ESO is going to be the only online game you play. So you'll get more than your moneys worth by all the other content you'll use with the live sub fees.
June is a long way off yet. A lot of things can happen between now and then so I'd just find something else to think about and wait until they get closer to a console launch before accepting that anything is written in stone.
Doubt they'll get that cheap for a year, but maybe.
It is unlikely to be only $60-$80, i can think of no game that does it that cheaply, even for a year long one. cheapest is Probably $100 for a year, but even that is unlikely.
Usually there is a 3 month sub also. Hope they have gametime cards available to but time will tell.
There is likely going to be a discount for getting a one year subscription. I doubt that the monthly subscription will be lower than $10 if you buy for the whole year.
Microsoft is kind of a giant jerk and will probably make you pay a subscription, sony is nice so they went through negotiations well with zos
I just love flashing this link for some reason (http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/07/sony-pushed-for-the-elder-scrolls-online-to-come-to-consoles) but I think its the reason why Sony was more willing to bend on that. They know a game like this on their console is a boon.
Sony did everything so right this generation
agreed, they definitely made up for the PS3 this generation. I HATED the PS3 and liked the Xbox 360 (though Nintendo still beats both ) now it is the other way around this time (Nintendo still on top though)
Agree 100%. I used to be the biggest Xbox fan. Heck, even this commercial rocks:

Oh no way! I thought it was undeniable fact
There will be discounts for paying more than one month at a time.
