I changed save from exs over to ess and it showed up, but it shows up as:

42949 Unknown Location

When I try and load it...it says:

The saved game cannot be loaded because it is outdated. Its version is 0 and the current version is 8.

How do I fix this

I need to fix it, because I am in a part on the 360 that keeps freezing when I try and leave riften so I figured i'll leave on the PC and then come back to the 360.

Did you just try again? Looks like something got corrupted, hope you copied and didn't totally move the file.

Saves from Xbox to PC and PC to Xbox works, all xbox saves are within containers so you'll have to download Modio and extract the Savegame.dat and then rename the .dat extenstion to .ess and then chuck it into your games folder. (Google it)

Is your PC and Xbox running the same version of the game ? (ie. same patch version of the exe ) -- If not that could be the cause of the error. Also as Daemon mentioned you don;t just rename the save you need to extract the .dat portion using MODIO and then rename that.

This...I forgot to remove the savegame.dat. It works now.
