i couldnt find a forum here that included Elder scrolls games and Fallout games aswell.

but my question is, what console runs these games better? im talking about smoothness/framerate/lag, i could honestly care less about graphics, even through the PS3 has a better hardware setup for graphics.

i own a PS3 and iv played everything that has been released to that console, and my god are they terrible in terms of frame rate drops, freezing, and lag... i platnumed Fallout 3:GOTY so i dont touoch that one anymore, i cant play new vegas for more than an hour at a time before the frame rate drops to about one frame every 4 or 5 seconds, (im told that happens when the save file reaches 12mb. skyrim is alright, but it suffers framerate drops in the middle of battles and it gets me killed.

so again, my question is, how well does the Xbox run these games compared to the PS3? again, graphics and visual detail is not an issue as long as the game runs smoother and longer.

I have them on the 360 and they run fairly smooth. I've heard lots of people having problems with the PS3 version of FO3 for some reason. If you install it to your harddrive it runs much smoother (and the console itself makes less noise)

Yeah, pretty much this. A good portion of Bethesda games run much smoother on the Xbox; and that's coming from a former PS3 player. Especially if you install it to your hardrive.

Graphics wise, there pretty much the same.

I've never had any problems with a bethesda made game on the PS3 Sure, it doesn't play as smoothly as the PC and after 100 hours of PC playing I almost rage-quitted because of the framerate difference But other than that, no problem.

The PS3 has more shader power than the 360 which can result in better looking effects on PS3.
But the 360 has a big memory advantage over PS3 as the unified memory system of the 360 gives more flexibility in handling data and larger texture sizes.

Simply put: PS3 is better for arcade like games with few data and lots of effects, 360 is better for large games with lots of data and this includes your open world rpgs like Fallout & co.

PC is out of the question.. this advanced toaster i call a computer isnt even capable of Team Fortress 2. hell, it can barely run Steam for that matter.

Post-Oblivion Bethesda games run better on 360 than on PS3. Graphics are essentially the same on both systems.

The 360 has a generally stronger GPU than the PS3 but the PS3's stronger CPU can pick up a lot of the slack if the developer knows how to use it.

I think some Xbox users do so as there is a rumour out there that more youngsters are on Playstation. That and the games for xbox are generally aimed at a more mature audience.

I have heard this a few times and was the reason I went with xbox even though I was told playstation is slightly more powerful.

Next time around I will however go with playstation if xbox continue to charge for xbox live.

I find beth games to be pretty laggy on my ps3, and thats a pretty common issue. Graphics wise, i fail to see how there could be a significant difference.
