Xbox360 outplays PS3

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:24 am

I own the PS3 and the XBOX 360 ...
and I first bought the game for the PS3 since I am a PS3 fan and wanted to go for it ..

But with all the issus (texturs, lags ..) I got another copy for X360, and what can I say.
I by far the better version.
The grafics are clearly better (better textures), the gameplay is smooth, the game was clearly optimized for XBOX360.

So if you own both systems, go and get the Xbox version, since it is the better game experience.
Sorry to say, but I will sell by PS3 copy again ..

It may have slightly sharper textures and colors but with that comes a cartoony color scheme and constant screen tearing. Each has pros and cons.

What do you expect? It was made on the 360 for the 360. The PS3 version is a port, Bethesda does not know how to make games for PS3 very well and they didn't want to go over the limitations of the 360. Me, I have the option of all 3 platforms. I chose PS3 because of the controller and HDD space and I dont trust my 360(RROD).

Port? Where did you see this information? In teh interviews I have seen Todd H always has said it was build for each machine. Anyway, Gamestop will exchange for the Xbox version since it has become unplayable.

The thing is, most people have no idea what tearing looks like, so it won't matter to them at all. Plus, I have to admit the cartoony color scheme does look cool.

Sad mate, I have both Xbox and PS3, but since my PS3 has had no problmes yet I have not had the need to return it. Even if it does start lagging I really can't handle constantly sending my Xbox away to be fixed.

This is the industry standard.

Ps3 is always behind the 360 in developer priorities.

It svcks, and this is the end of the line with me. My new PC should be here soon, and i will kiss goodbye to console gaming (Aside from some pretty special exclusives like Uncharted).

*sigh* I used to be both a console and PC gamer, back in the days when computers weren't so expensive and I could play classics like Rome:Total War on PC one day and then PES on the PS2 the other. Then s**t got crazy.

This. The screen tearing is pretty annoying.
And I hope they adjust the Anti-Aliasing for the PS3 version a bit. They've set it to strong which causes the slight blur of the textures which would otherwise look pretty much the same as on the 360.

I just today traded my PS version for the XBOX version, and I just replied in another thread - it really plays like a DREAM. SOOOO much better (I'm sad to say) in every aspect. Looks, controls, framerate (even before the savefile got huge on the PS3). I certainly regret preordering the PS3 version. Should have waited a couple of days to see which version was the one to get. If I can say ONE positive thing about the PS version, it's that it never once froze during the 60 hours I played it. Have now played the XBOX version for about 5 hours, and it has frozen once... But that's it.

Unfortunately, most developers are designing games for the 360 as opposed to the PS3 which creates the difference and not what the machines can handle. Technically, the PS3 is a more powerful machine but it doesn't matter when games aren't designed to make use of its capabilities. That said, Uncharted is better than any Xbox exclusive.

Since my ps3 version is crippled now I had my frien bring over his 360 copy to compare on te same tv with the same settings.

For graphics it's a wash, ps3 version has a much better color aeshetic while 360 is more detailed faces look better etc...

But where the 360 version wins is not being ultimitely crippled by lag. I think tearing in any game is very noticable and ruins the experience. But I would take that over the ps3 cuz I can actually inih the game.

No, screen tearing does not ruin the experience. people are putting too much emphasis on how the game looks then its content.

agreed. Its stupid how the PS3 can come out with amazing exclusives like Uncharted 3 and others that look amazing running at 30+fps while Bethesda won't even dedicate time to actually make use of what the PS3 can do, and just rush a broken port to the PS3. Honestly, i bet if Skyrim were a PS3 exclusive, the game could have had so much more potential.

Nice opinion. The opinion of alot of people is that screen tearing is distracting, ugly, and ruins the experience of the game. I didn't even know what screen tearing was when I first noticed it years ago and looked it up, I just knew it svcked.
