Yay! not only is my save file 10mb...

But when entering a building I can make a peanut butter and jam sandwhich, make a cup of coffee but I can also right this line out!

Now that I'm back to playing I thought I'd continue this topic. Why are the load times soooooo long? Yes I'm on PS3 but still I can think of many other games that are way bigger, or so I would think, and their save files are no were near 10mb, oh and I've only played for 109 hours... so what gives? I know people say "clean up after battles" and all that but that's like Bethesda punishing us for playing...

Every patch note I read for a new patch says that it fixed some memory managment but I dont' see it, after every patch update i don't see my saves go down a little bit, I see it jump allot, well did, now that I've hit 10mb oh wait! I addopted a kid it's now 11mb...

really Bethesda? I need an external harddrive just for Skryim...

So really though, what are the patch updates doing to the save files?

check how many saves you have. i had 500 saves in my saved games, loading screens took 5 minutes. narrowed my saves down to 10 for my current characters, loading screens are 20 seconds tops. idk how it works but it did for me

Have you recently tried deleting Skyrim game data and reinstalling, then redownloading/installing the patches and DLCs? That tends to help performance a fair bit.

im talking about literally deleting saved games that you have. my saved games list was hefty and my game was running slower until i deleted most of my 550 or so saves

Save game deletion does help.

10 meg is a reasonable file though, I'm running at around 19 meg with my level 65 character.

A sandwich? Please. When the Dwemer Museum Key in my inventory began multiplying without my knowing, the save bloat got so bad that the game took about an hour and a half to start, and loading screens were rarely less than twenty minutes.

By the time I caught on, everything was in low-texture slow-mo, and I had about 3500+ Dwemer Museum keys. Solution? I put all but one in a body knowing it would despawn, and saved the last of them in Hjerim case I for some reason would need it again.

The moral of the story? Always watch out for cloning keys.
