Have fun!
I dont find it weird that bandits attack you because they don't have google and don't know what you look like. As for them fighting to the death with one health, meh. This is Skyrim. Even our milkdrinkers are somewhat tough.
This is the most confusing poll I've seen in ages. What "Dragonborn theme thread" are you referring to? I think I have a headache now...
I liked it in oblivion, where if you became the CoC, everyone would address as such and like you more for it, whereas in Skyrim, only the guards ever mention that you are the dragonborn and that you SAVED THE WORLD, or take note on any of your achievements for that matter. For example, Nazeem is still a dike to you, despite you being thane of the 9 holds, archmage, harbinger, dovahkiin and a high ranking officer in the army!
I would have liked a little more recognition from NPC's about Our characters accomplishments, and not just the positive things.
It's just poorly written. It's not a main quest and it doesn't feel like a main quest. The concept is good and the ending is great, although the fight with Alduin should have been a 3 stage fight all over Sovngarde. Not just that tiny space in front of the bridge. It just doesn't feel epic.
I'm pushing myself through that questline right now and since my character started in Solthsteim and I have to get Dragonrend, for the first time ever I'm skipping over the dialogue because all I can think of is: "you know, I could use Bend Will, so this is highly unnecessary" It's kind of ruining my character. I can't get though it while wearing Miraak's robes and being treated like an ignorant drunk nord.
I will never understand these complaints about lack of asskissing.
Neither the Nerevarine or CoC received the kind of worship people wish for in Skyrim. No castles, no statues (just for Martin Septim), no becoming a freakin' king.
As for acknowledgement, the Tongues are the first to do it. "All hail the Dragonborn! Hail him/her with great praise!".
And Paarthurnax praises you when you arrive from Sovngarde.
This whole need for some ego massage is crazy.
Well maybe the other dragons don't know about Skuldalfin and only some like Odahviing, Alduin's new lieutenant do and you need him to get there for that reason. I'm sure Alduin wouldn't want every dragon to know where his portal to Sovngarde is.
I just want a castle like the COC got. Don't care about temples or statues. Although... a statue would be nice. Hmmm. In the center of the market square in Solitude.
Don't care about public acclaim BUT the commoners should at least show some respect which would necessitate some changes in dialogue as the story unfolds. You should be able to go BOO to non coms after Alduin is taken down and have them run.
Bandits are bandits are bandits, looking to make a quick score no matter who comes down the road. If I were them though I'd muster a small army before taking on the DoVahKiin.
Do you know how much a big wedding can cost? *Looks at the safes and chests bulging with septims and gems* Er...ah. Never mind.
That's what I have, just without the dashes. Sheesh!
Edit: Ah the capitilization. Meh. Whatever floats your boat.
The occasional its the dragonborn! Or its the Dovahkiin! Would do me just fine. I wish that we could have fought with Alduin in a city somewhere as well. Maybe a town was built over a dragon mound and they didn't know it. Alduin comes in and summons one out the ground, destroying a house, or maybe a temple of Shor or something. That would be funny considering their past. I know he's "dead" but they still revere him. Some kind of temple seems in order to me. Anyway, besides that, maybe after the first fight with him on the throat of the world, he goes off to wreak havoc on in his anger or something then paar paar gives us a ride to chase him down. The chase takes us to Solitude where he starts [censored] [censored] up, and we finish him off there instead of on the mountain. THEN he goes to Sovngarde.
If only.
I know, I know
We did receive that, more than once.
The problem I see here is that people think it only counts if it comes from common npcs.
I don't really think Bethesda could have it make sense, no matter what they did. The only option would be ending the game when you finish the main quest. Technically after you do that, it should be really boring; the story's over. It's fine the way it is right now, only mildly irritating.
It does seem strange that none of them react to it.
I do have a problem continuing for long after the MQ is done. I usually save it for last.
1) the end of most of Bethesda main quests are lack-luster, kinda to be expected at this point
2) No, a real Hero does not do what he does for recognition or reward, he does it simply because it needs to be done
3) No, LDB is not a god or Celestial Being (He may be a Shezzarine, but that has not been officially confirmed as of yet), as such should not be worshipped (I don't want the LDB to go the "Mantling" route, as it will take away pretty much the onlyu unique thing the CoC did).
4) A Statue... I could live with that
5) this is a case of "game Mechanic vs. Lore". in Oblivion for example most characters would recignize your actions, but it took away from their unique Dialogue. so in Skyrim they only make guards do this as to keep normal citizens unique dialogue intact
6) I could live with that, but it would have to actually cost money, as opposed to the free wedding in the Chapel
7) your wording confuses me here... not sure what ur talking about...
8) Not weird at all.. Nirn has no Internet, no Google Images, no Social networking sites, and no 5 aclock news. people know the LDB exists, but the Average Citizen is unaware of what they look like. sorta like the late Middle-ages, members of the Royal Family would actually walk the streets of the capital to see its state, and the average Citizen would treat them like any other citizen as they had no Idea what the Royal actually looked like
9) Meh, doesn't bother me that much
10) :/
I hate the feeling that your character is dead because all questlines have been done. The In Character ones at least.
When you load his/her save file it feels like you're pathetically trying to drag out something that is already over.
This is why I typically throw away characters after they hit level 30-ish or so.
