Yielding to Ralof

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 9:11 pm

So after the start, I went to kill Ralof, only to find he is immune to death and unkillable, and probably important to the story line.

Unfortunately he either doesn't accept my yield or it doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe you just aren't killing him hard enough.

I fail to see any spoilers here except there is a man named Ralof that the game doesn't let you kill.

Still, I'd like to be able to do the main quest eventually. Any way to fix this? Maybe a console command even?

Ask yourself WHY you did this, and then know that you deserve this fate.

I already went through a couple of mines and stuff. Im like level 6 now, and I would pretty much have to completely restart.

My character is an argonian. And at the time I just wanted his stuff to sell, he didnt die, so i pranced off and leveled up for a bit, when i returned to the city, several npcs were hostile towards me and i could not get them to yield.

Then live with the consequences of your actions; forever doomed to have the Terminator of Skyrim following you to bring you your death.

If I were able to kill him and got a "Tamriel is forever doomed" or whatever like in morrowind i would have known to just reload. Dooming me because an NPC isn't killable so you cant [censored] over the storyline, but [censored] over the storyline anyways is just silly

It's an elders scrolls game, I don't see the issue of getting miffed that I randomly kill people in a role playing aspect of a murderous villain. This isn't about morals, my topic is about the game being broken.

I have a similar problem, I killed a chicken infront of Ralof's sisters' house and now his sister and some other dude are attacking me. Is there a console command or some way to yield to them ? I've tried, but nothing helps so far. I don't want to kill them because there's some quest with her.

Sigh. Every TES game has been the same and there is one VERY SIMPLE general rule to follow to keep things like this from happening. If someone is not attacking you, or if you have not been quested to kill them, then do not kill them.

It's such a very simple rule, but from MW to Skyrim now I've seen hundred's of threads like this. All because they failed at this one very simple rule. It's not like there isn't enough things to kill in this game, or steal.

This is exactly why Argonians shouldn't be allowed in Skyrim.

Hold up. Why would they not let me kill him because he is important to the storyline, but not let me yield to him either. It's just bad design regardless of my poor choice. They should have taken the morrowind route where it lets me kill him, but warns me that he was important to the plot and i wouldn't be able to finish it. Everyone here is just acting childish and attacking my judgement rather than discussing possible fixes, which is what I originally sought. This hinders my role playing experience.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that i have played Elder scrolls games since my childhood, and have never had an issue such as this. In morrowind it told me immediately, and in Oblivion you could just yield to important NPCs and it worked.
