You got to admit, PC users "can" get best experience

Post » Fri Sep 07, 2012 1:45 pm

NOTE this: THIS THREAD IS NOT INSULT ON PS3/360 USERS, ONLY DISCUSSION, WHY IS SKYRIM BETTER TO PLAY ON PC, NOR CONSOLES!!! :thanks:

So, i think that PC is best, 'cause first of all, we have mods, and i would like if Bethesda come up with something, and make mods for consoles, and that we all can share our work, that would be very cool, and i have more then 100 mods, and my Skyrim, looks amazing, there is a lot of graphical improvements, a lot of new little features, etc, and i can run smoothly on max details with no FPS degrading... And on PCs it's easier to fix some broken quest with cheats. And there is also a couple of mods, that fix bugs. So what do you guys think? And again, this is NOT an insult to console players, and i hope Bethesda menage to fix that Dawnguard problem and finally release it on PS3.

Well if this topic isn't calling for smeone to call us pc users elitist [censored]s, then I don't know what is. This isn't the sort of thread that is going to help put to rest that not all pc users are elitists and that we all think ours is the best platform to play on. No, it's a matter of what we choose to play on, nothig more, nothing less.

Whether I agree with you or not on whether we get the best experience or not is not the question. The real question is how does one enjoy the experience on their chosen platform, not how great or how [censored] one is.

Sorry, but I'll call it now, this thread can't go anywhere but downhill.

I should have known that everyone will get wrong opinion, and i did wanted to hear from others opinion on this, and if they are agree with it, if not, what are you suggesting.
And didn't want to rub everyone noses. :wallbash:

The thing is that simply talking about PC gaming in general seems like you're rubbing peoples noses in it. :)

Thing is I feel the argument is not about PC or console.

The argument lies in what Bethseda thinks it's audience wants.

PC users think it's the console users fault. But in reality, it's not really about PC or console. It's about what is being designed in mind for the "casual" gamer. Not realizing that market will crash and sink as it always has in the past.

You say you're trying not to start a console war ... But your entire thread is about how one platform is superior to another?
I can't see this ending well.

Considering the PC version is the only platform, in my opinion, stable enough to play the game properly, I would agree. The console and ini tweaks alone make it a far more enjoyable experience. It's not perfect, but tweakable enough to let you balance the game for the specs of your machine. The Xbox version now, with updates, is not the game I originally purchased, freezes, crashes and graphics glitches make it unplayable on my Machine.

As for mods, I myself haven't used them, apart from the Unofficial bug fix one, reason being, the more you change the more likely bugs will cause instability in an already unstable game.

I rarely play anything on PC these days, only really once in a while. Things like SimCity or Civilization need to be played on a PC, IMO. Games like those don't port well to consoles. I also use it to play classics like Wing Commander and Syndicate that aren't available elsewhere. The thing I love about my 360 (and PS3, when I had one) is I can just switch it on and play immediately. It's convenient in a way PCs rarely are.

As for mods - some people swear by them, I can do without.

To each his own, eh?

EDIT: And in reply to the post above, I very rarely get any problems with the Xbox version of Skyrim. You could say I'm lucky or you're unlucky but it makes little difference. It's the PS3 users I feel bad for.

Mods is one big the reason why I'm still interested in video games. I remember in the 80's modding, of course, was unheard of. Those were the days when people really got stuck in a level. You didn't like the color of the sky? Too bad, what you see is what you get. It's sad this still holds true for console folks. They still can't enjoy mods; they are still stuck in the 80's. As a pc user, I feel it shouldn't be this way. Consoles have evolved a lot since then, and for them unable to enjoy user made mods is plain unfair, considering how console players have made these companies rich.

Actually, it's better to play on consoles because the experience is more authentic and you don't have mods to distract you from Bethesda's vision.

Let me fix the title of this thread for you:

"You got to admit, Skyrim fans "can" get the best experience playing Skyrim on their favorite platform of choice"

... cause not everyone is a fan of the PC.
