Do you guys complete all quests in an area before moving on?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:26 pm

With the exception of faction HQs I generally move around quite a lot.

Since I'm playing an archer, I've stayed in Whiterun most of the time as well. At 18 I took a random trip to the Mages college and took a few classes but felt naked in all that color with just a nightgown on, but put on my armor and headed south again! I took a trip to Dawnstar to mine some Quicksilver for my bow but didn't talk to many people there. I was attacked by a dragon though and fell it right on their main road. Poor towns folk won't be able to leave the town anymore what with the storms blowing snow everywhere and their road blocked by a dragon skeleton.

In general though yeah, I try to be a completest with an occasional far away adventure or two.

I just do the quests in the order they take me, and go from place to place.

Neither, I do what fits my character profile best. As an assassin I certainly don't care about some kid being bullied by a girl.

I'm level 23 and I have only been to whiterun, riften, markarth, and solitude. I also usually explore the area around the cities also.

I travled to markarth....didn't like it everyone hated me and people tried to kill me...reloaded an older save and deleted all evidence that I had ever been there

I'm doing that...but I'm level 24 and I still have a massive list of Whiterun quests so I'm a bit miffed. The basic plan is do every quest originating in Whiterun completing quest steps as they get further away from the city until I'm out of quests, then move on to the next closest city I've already been to as a result of previous quests, rinse, repeat until all cities have been hit. Obviously quests involving assassinations or progressing the story or drastically altering something else that might make future available quests become unavailable get put on hold though. For now I'm about to kill a giant and then after that go see the Greybeards (yes I'm 24 and I haven't talked to them yet).

I try just to "live" in the harsh environment that Skyrim is. I go where I feel I want to go (rumor, a kid summons the brotherhood in Windhelm, of I go). I visit the inns, see that I hear many rumors, get some things done on my journey through the wild, but in the end I really just do what I want and try to stay alive :).

Long story short: No.

I definitely ping pong all over the map. Haha. Basically whatever I feel like doing at that moment. Whiterun is still my home, but I have quests all over the entire map, and the only time I fast travel is to hit up the casa to dump my loot, or in the absolute farthest travel (say NW corner to SE corner for a quest, when I've traveled the majority of the trek in spirts in the past) for quests, so I get my walk on/hunt on quite often, and in those instances if I run in to a quest-hubish area that I've hit up a bit in the past but have some more to do in the area, I'll work on them a bit before moving on.

depends, sometimes I am not in the mood, for quests I just want to run around the world, find dungeons and kill and loots stuff.. Not a big fan of bethesda, quests, I am interested in the theives guild questline for the obvious reasons..

There's one quest in Whiterun that takes you to the other end of Skyrim if you wish to complete it, and I don't feel like heading off that way yet. I've gathered a few quests, but mostly I'm exploring dungeons along the roadside as I make my way to Riften.

Not there yet... I've made it as far as Darkwater Crossing.

No way. I just move around and start a couple quests here, a couple quests there. And when ever I am back in a certain city, I'll pick it back up from there.

I usually stay in one place and collect and do as many quests as possible. Then I decided that's no fun. So now I only do what I think the character would actually ant to do. Plus I look at like if I don't do all the quests, the next game I start it will be like playing a entirely different game. What good guy wants to go and kill a camp of bandits for ring. I'll save something like that for my dirty thief. That's just an example but I feel doing too many quests gets over wheeling and you forget what your doing.

level 23 and am just about ready to leave whiterun, finished companions and most non-miscellanious quests, bought the house, but I'm ready to move on...walked to riften took me a while since I did dungeons, quests, and went back to whiterun to dump/sell loot too many times. can't beleive i'm already done with a major guild so i'm going to start roleplaying, not using fast travel except for dumping loot, etc
