So You Have Played the Game a Time or Three

Post » Fri Dec 10, 2010 3:49 pm

I have been through this game 4 times so far. Just last night I found or stumbled across the door to the North Vegas Square. Now, I have walked past the North Vegas Square several times on my way to H2H Tools, but never knew there was an area like Westside there. I always thought North Vegas Square was just that building that is next to the Map Marker. Which always made me wonder why it was marked on the map.

So, what areas have you discovered on your subsiquent playthroughs that you did not for some reason find on your first couple of times through? For example, while I know about the Deathclaw Promentory, I have not been there yet as I have not had a reason.

I didn't know the Sewers existed until I read a post where someone mentioned it, and then I still didn't actually go inside it until even later. I also didn't find the N. Vegas Square until my 2nd character I think. That underwater cave I didn't discover until my 3rd chr.

There are still occasionally tiny spots I run into that I hadn't before, as well. For instance there's some half-shack spot near the 188 Trading post as you head towards NV that, despite my apparently having walked right close by it dozens of times, I only recently actually triggered as a map location. It was nothing interesting, mind you, but I couldn't believe I'd never 'discovered' it before (I've never taken that all-map-locations Perk). :D

It took me a few characters to notice the door to North Vegas Square as well ^^

On my last playthrough, I discovered the lakelurk area on the eastern side of the Colorado, and doing the Return to Center quest for the first time took me to a few ranger stations I hadn't been to either.

Damn, I feel left out, entering North Vegas on my first playthrough. :sadvaultboy:

There's actually a few locations I never bother to explore until my 5th playthrough. That playthrough, I took the Explorer perk at level 30 just to see what I missed. Amazingly, I missed only one or two places. One of them I remember being the Devil's Throat, which is that far-far-far away marker on the east. I've also never actually explored the Vegas sewers all that much either. I know there's some areas I've never been to / only been through once.

Walking Box Cavern and the Nellis Train Tunnel were new to me on the 4th game. I still haven't found a few places. Sometimes I'll see a mark on the compass and get distracted by something else and just never get there. Haven't seen Bootjack Cavern or Chance's grave. Still haven't explored the sewers either.

I rushed to finish the main quest on my first playthrough, so lets not treat that as an actual playthrough. (I didn't even discover 50 locations on my 1st) I walked in the North Vegas Square and did the quest on my second playthrough (technically my 1st). I didn't realize there was a Camp Golf until my 4th playthrough. On my 1st playthrough (the rushed one) I was excited about going to Hoover Dam for the first time, while exploring, when I got there, :sadvaultboy: , but I did find the Quartermaster and thought he sold Assualt Carbines and Riot Shotguns, he didn't.

I have created 9 characters and finished the game 5 times.

I have pretty much been everywhere in the wasteland, except a minimum of places. (Yes, I killed the Legendary Deathclaw and got Mercy, the Grenade Machinegun)

Great, now I have even more places to go to. I thought the Legendaries were just random spawns where you would normally find them....

Last game it was Bonnie and Clydes place, before that it was the sewers..
Quite a few magical troves of goodness yet unfound..
The two ogres biggies being the bandit camp with the high level EW, and the cave under the east side of witch Black mountain full of mutants.

One not so much an area but little side thing I missed the first few games, was the gecko tunnel above vault 34's mine entrance.

The Legendary NightStalker is in Bloodborne Cave. I've never had to fight him because I always take Animal Friend but he paces and he's huge and still scary. :)

Yes, LC, me too. We're just go-with-the-flow kinda gals. ;)

I rushed my first gameplay to get a grip off the storyline in general.

I'm on my second playthrough now, and I've discovered more locations that I didn't previously. A notable one would be the Fight Arena, nice place to gain simple XP and earn rewards at the same time.

It's rad heavy more so than the other way, however it has the goo piles reminiscent of FO2.

I heard there is a tunnel under the New Vegas Strip. It's still on my list of places to see. Anyone see it yet?

I've made a few characters to do Red Lucy's quest (unfinished) and I have yet to do all the NCR quests or Aerotech, there's so many places for me to explore it boogles my mind. Heck, I just started collecting all the snow globes a few characters ago and I've not done all The Strip even Freeside quests, it never ends! :cryvaultboy:
