I'm usually pretty good about finding songs on my own but for some reason I've not been able to figure this one out. I've known about it for years and yet, for the life of me have never heard it anywhere else nor can I figure out the name of it. He does not say the name of the song in the video, I thought it was a Faith No More song but after listening to many FNM just to find it I've decided it probably isn't.\

anyway, this is probably a stupid question and may be very obvious to someone, but I can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy

I've heard this song before and searched out the source to come up with the name.

That is a cool trick. I'm pretty handy with search engines and will find pretty much anything with lyrics, but instrumentals...impressive.

to the poster that suggested I use the comment section, ordinarily I would but considering that Maxwell_Adams is notoriously uncommunicative and has been on hiatus with the Freelance Astronauts for over a year, and the fact that he's not been used his dailymotion account since probably 2009, the likelihood of getting a response was very small

If you have a smartphone you can just use the Shazam or Soundhound apps...hold your phone up to your computer speaker. Works nearly every time unless it's a pretty obscure tune.

Why did you think it might be a FNM song? Maybe because he does play a couple of FNM songs in the video?

thanks, some instrumentals are hard to track down though, especially if they're not in a movie or tied to something similar. I remember having a hard time finding Rob Dougans Clubbed to Death because I couldn't remember where I've heard it and it drove me nuts until 1 day someone was watching the Matrix and I facepalmed myself.

trixxy technology, I've tried Shazam before and it has helped with some songs but others it couldn't and I had to rely on old fashioned detective work.

Yeah, it won't find everything, but it's a good place to start if you're not familiar with a song and you don't recognize the artist's style or voice. It identified the song the OP was trying to figure out pretty quickly.
