You Know You're Playing Hearthfire When...

You get more excited finding an iron ore vein than finding an ebony vein.

You have 100 in Smithing and have never made or upgraded any armor or weapon.

You choose a follower, not because of how powerful they are, but how nifty they'll look hanging around your new place as a steward.

You regret having joined the DB because it means you'll have to travel a lot further to buy lumber when you kill Hert.

Your cannibalistic vampire assassin wakes up in her coffin to a surge of vampiric power and a Mother's Love.

You used to protect the goats on the path up to High Hrothgar, but now you race to kill them before the wolves and bears can.

You wish you could turn the gold back into iron with transmute.

And since you can't do it with transmute, you do it by buying up all the iron the merchants have in stock.

You are outside at Lakeview Manor and your daughter helps you fend off a Legendary Dragon with the best enchanted Legendary Dragonbone Dagger you have ever crafted.

For those of us that went with the kitchen addition:

You're happy to find a jug of milk on a dead bandit.

You put up with vampire attacks while scouring Skyrim's inns and markets looking for butter and jugs of milk.

You try to get M'aiq out of your house.

You sit back and wonder how your character managed to build a house in three in-game hours. (this actually bugged me, so I reloaded and rebuilt the house, taking time)

Your game crashes 10 times more often than usual and making thousands upon thousands of nails and hinges instead of weapons or armor at forges causes you to gradually lose the will to live.

I started a new character and got Lakeside Manor as soon as I had 5000 gold. The house construction actually made it felt like less of a grind while leveling up smithing. For an existing high level character (already at 100 smithing), making all those iron fittings, nails, and hinges did make my character felt suicidal. :ermm:

I considered myself lucky because I've only experienced a few lock-ups on the 360 and none on my PC since Hearthfire was installed.

You run across the length and breadth of Skyrim, visiting all the general merchants, trying to find a HUGE bowl which will match with the other bowls you have in the house just so you can have a big bowl of fruit (red and green apples) as a centrepiece on the dining table.

You could just take one of the bowls in the house.. but I liked them where they were. Only found my bowl on my third round of combing all the general merchants.. *hug bowl*

Another thing about Hearthfire - finally had a reason to buy Black-Briar's Reserve. Never knew (nor cared) that Maven had a special brew, but I got 3 bottles now lovingly stocked with the rest of my Black-Briars and Honningbrews.
