I was going to go see my good ol' friend Jon Battle-Born in Whiterun (who I can't marry, btw), and his whole family was telling me to get out.

I guess they didn't like me too much...

"It's time for bed, family!

Uhhh, who is this guy in our house when we are going to sleep, what is he going to do?

Sir, you need to leave."

(Player takes items of worth, and then leaves the house)

I think it's to do with certain quests letting you into houses/shops at times when they'd normally be locked. It's happened to me a couple of times. The quest NPCs will talk as normal but others will be grumpy cos the AI thinks you've broken in. It was driving me nuts too yesterday. I was trying to hear what was being said but another NPC kept repeating that "you need to leave" over and over.

I've had it happen to me several times. A guy standing outside some place gives me a quest to go into a building and deal with something and hands me a key. I walk inside and there he is telling me I need to get out. Really? Okay you deal with the rats or whatever dude. I was just trying to be nice, I'm off to kill another dragon. In fact if I thought I could kill you without the guards noticing I'd do it without hesitation.

I had this problem starting the Dark Brotherhood stuff, tried to go in and talk to a farmer and his wife kept saying that while I was in conversation with him. Eventually she just outright attacked me. -_- I've become very aware that everyone in the game is an [censored]. "Let me guess, somebody stole your sweetroll." I swear to Akatosh, if I hear another guard say that I'm going to slaughter them.

i find "are you feeling ill" or "you dont look so good" "you should be in bed resting" etc etc to be the most annoying....

I'm guessing most of you wish a Giant would walk into a house, yell "SHORYUKEN!" and power hit the offending NPC through a wall?

I have that problem, but what really gets to me is that the NPCs go through their list of dialogue too often and too fast. You get 3 warnings, and they happen so fast that it's easy to end up getting a bounty, when not knowing a building will be closed up soon. Or, another example, in the tutorial. When you get in the building, the guy will say "There must be some equipment in one of these crates, look around." Then he says it again, within a VERY short time frame. And again. I just wanted to grab all the loot I could, of course, but I payed for it with a headache.

There are several NPCs I actively avoid running by because they piss me off so much. Like, "Come to talk to an old woman, hmm? Do your good deed for the day?" Lady, I was just RUNNING PAST YOU. Get over yourself.

Or the little girl in Windhelm who tells me every time I run past her that she works with her mother selling produce. I know, you've told me fifty times!

Oh yeah the little kids are the worst. I had the little girl in Whiterun constantly repeat the same crap over and over while I was trying to listen to a speech for a part of the main quest. I ended up not hearing much of it because the girl kept repeating the same thing so fast it covered up everything else. If I hadn't been standing next to 6 guards who were also trying to hear the speech I'd have blasted her away with a spell or two. In fact if I get my sneak up a little more I'll be paying her a visit with a warhammer to the back of the skull.
