You should be furious, Elder Scrolls Community...

This article pretty much sums it up, i'm a PC player but i feel for the PS3 community because if half the launch troubles i experienced on PC we're half as bad as PS3's i truly am sorry. Bethesda are dumbing down their Franchises and catering to one specific audience while backhanding the others (Taking away features that are complex and replacing with dumbed down options). I truly hope the sales for their next game are down on PS3, PC so that they realise the faults they have made. Opinions?

Get over it. I have nothing but positive experiences with skyrim and all Bethesda games.

I am. I'm refusing to buy any of the DLC until it's 50% off or less. Should Beth release a good DLC (DG and DB seem pretty nice) without a Microsoft-bought delay I will buy it day one, but when my release date gets sold I want at least half off the price.

Thankfully you don’t get to decide what I “should” read, much less get upset about. I’ll stick with my own judgment, thank you.

Well I don't much care for exclusivities or how they might treat their PC/PS3 communities (PC user here, btw), what I do care about is the shoddiness they get away with. The engine powering FO and EScrolls games this generation is just too damn quirky. They're filled chock full of bugs, and the press gleefully turn a blind eye to it. Yes, I still absolutely love my Elder Scrolls, but for Bethesda to get away with all these bugs with every iteration of their flag franchise just sets a bad precedent for them (foremost) and other developpers too.

Because they catch no flak for these quirky engines, they're all the more likely to let it all slide again in the next itteration, and then the next. They're likely to continue to force their current engine to the brink into the next gen, rather than realise that they would deliver a game far more solid were they to build a new engine with stronger foundations. Fact of the matter is, their current engine wasn't built to support the kind of advanced scripting and A.I. they try to pull off, and the result is something just downright shoddy.

The anolysis takes the complex dynamics of game development and reduces it to a simplistic they-could-do-it-if-only-they-cared rant in slipshod English.

They've been using the same game engine since 2002. Updated to include new features, but it's as updated as Intel Pentium 4, it can only go so far.

Frankly, Microsoft simply paid too much coin for Bethesda to ignore. More timed exclusive content means more coin, so I figure that Bethesda's top executive's priority is to milk Microsoft as much as they can, and spend development on PC and PS3 "just because". Heck, they purposefully unoptimized the PC version up until 1.4. Probably just to be on the safe side and prevent headaches optimization might cause.

Either way, I don't see any support from PlayStation gamers going down hard enough for Bethesda to shift their gear. So, what? Microsoft can pay them more than PS3 gamers can, and whiners always equal buyers (only those who've bought can whine about how bad it is), and talented modders will always make PC version too good to pass up, not to mention hardcoe modders like UnOfficial Patch team and SKSE team that basically do Bethesda's job and become unofficial sale point.

PS3 exclusive user here and Skyrim runs pretty well for me. I've had a couple glitched quests which I was able to rectify (Briarhearts and submerging in water locking up). I'm not happy about PS3 add-on content being unavailable, but the outrage, to me anyway, is laughable. The entertainment value I've gotten from my Skyrim investment is still high.

Having said that, at the point ANY DLC becomes available for me, I will buy it. Not just for my PS3, but for my kids' PS3 downstairs too.

I really dislike it when people tell me how I should feel based on their own opinion.

By the way, we'll think what we want. Thanks, but I can think for myself, and I say:
