Well.. I have seen some PC screens of Skyrim... Low, medium, High, and Ultra...

These are pictures of Skyrim on the 360 in Riverwood.. http://www.google.com/imgres?q=Skyrim+360+riverwood+shot&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=881&tbm=isch&tbnid=0c7wdiohUbFbKM:&imgrefurl=http://www.xbox360iso.com/tes-v-skyrim-t451670.html&docid=xfEjIrs6xzqb0M&imgurl=http://i901.photobucket.com/albums/ac215/Xion24/the-elder-scolls-v-skyrim-gameplay-village-screenshot-xbox-360.jpg&w=800&h=449&ei=TXW8TqHmBcXW0QGE25TGBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=388&vpy=599&dur=1301&hovh=168&hovw=300&tx=152&ty=144&sig=115500004121848219312&page=3&tbnh=114&tbnw=204&start=40&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:40 and http://www.google.com/imgres?q=Skyrim+360+riverwood+shot&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=881&tbm=isch&tbnid=L-asWmYm-cQdXM:&imgrefurl=http://www.gamespot.com/unions/VDFE/forums/28855368/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-features-information-and-media&docid=e7Z4KI0TqvoldM&imgurl=http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/9607/vlcsnap2011091223h33m06.png&w=1280&h=720&ei=TXW8TqHmBcXW0QGE25TGBA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=309&vpy=384&dur=512&hovh=168&hovw=300&tx=174&ty=65&sig=115500004121848219312&page=2&tbnh=119&tbnw=211&start=20&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:20

Neither. It's probably closer to high, but certainly not Ultra.

XBox 360 will have the lowest texture possibilities. So both consoles will be based on that bar.

From what I saw, the PS3 has better textures than the 360. I'm not sure if thats because of the known 360 texture issue though.

Edit: On topic I would say it's between medium and high.

It's already been stated that console is PC on low. It was either Todd Howard or Pete Hines who confirmed this saying something along the lines of you can't make the PC version look any worse than the console.

personally I think Todd and Pete were both wrong. It seems that consoles aren't on low but on something different. It's just impossible to be low since the graphics are astonishing.

They are mid-ish. I just finished the 12 hours long Skyrim live crap from Game spot and it is defiantly mid-high. They have some examples. Very pleasing.

Edit : The only Noticeable difference between Max PC : Console is lighting, and ever so slightly smoother objects. Other then that it's practicly the same. And the differences are super minor. It's really well done.

these photos are flawed... the low has a better draw distance than the medium.

Seems as if it has characteristics of Low, Medium, and High.. The ground textures seem low but the textures on the roof i noticed to be high or medium..

Also keep in mind that while the console hardware is approaching ancient, they do run the game at a lower resolution than what most people will probably use for the PC version, even on modest hardware. I checked out a couple of screenshot threads earlier and if I'm not mistaken the low setting on PC doesn't have fog for instance? There's plenty of that in the PS3 version, and I'm sure the 360 version as well.

As Death Toaster suggested, the game quite likely uses a unique set of settings tailored for the best comprise between image quality and performance on the consoles.

Consoles are running at low because Pete Hines said you cannot make PC Skyrim look WORSE than the console version.

I played Skyrim on an Xbox at PAX and it was beautiful. Consolites have nothing to worry about.

The textures seem varied on consoles.. Such as low textures and high textures.. So I think Pete or Todd if it was wrong about what they said..

Pete Hines has been proved wrong on many occasions and has given conflicting answers a bunch of times.

Don't believe him.

Looks really nice on consoles from what I've seen. I'm sure it's a mix of what would look best and still run well.

The xbox examples are crap, sorry to say, but maybe if they where actually...the same size as the pc screens, that would be nice.
I have seen some gameplay on the 360 though, and i think it looks fantastic.

People need to realize that live streams are of extremely poor quality compared to what the original source is displaying. It's like looking at someone through a webcam and thinking they're blurry in real life.

Video capture devices also cannot truly represent the fidelity of a picture directly from a HDTV with HDMI cables. Not to mention the massive compression videos go through before being uploaded on the internet. Nothing out there is a true representation of what Skyrim will look like on the consoles, seeing it with your own eyes on a HDTV will be a drastic difference.

and since when was Pete always right?Just because he said it doesn't mean it actually is real.He also said installing the game on HDD makes game fine yet xbox 360 console users reported the texture bug.

Consoles are low. Low still looks good though, the only noticeable differences I saw was shadows and draw distance.
