Younger versions of the Presets: How to?

How do create a younger version of the presets? Normally in other character creators you can do that by changing the complexion. Fallout 4's character creator is a challenge for me.

Heh. Your question was posed on Saturday - i imagine some people (like me) only check the forums during the week when we're supposed to be working (cough, cough).

Anyway, since the boss isn't looking, I can post a bit... the only way I know to make characters look younger would be to, as you note, alter the complexion. There is no ONE "complexion" slider, though. You would need to alter the Style of the forehead, neck, and I think there's a general facial texture option. Like, for forehead you can have smooth or wrinkled or angry and so on. To make a young character, you obviously want the smoothest option (usually the first option). You can also do things like tweak the size of the eyes to be a bit bigger, open them up by altering the upper and lower eyelids a bit (that "wide eyed youth" look)....

Choose one of the more vibrant skin tones (not a dull, faded-looking one, but either a bright energetic one or, in my case, gothic white pale)... pick a young hairstyle and a non-gray/white color hair (unless you're going for a Taarna-white hair look) and you should be good to go.

I'll throw in my two cents. Like the person above said, you'll have to highlight different portions of the face and check to see if you get a "Type" option. Not all parts of the face have it. Also, when choosing eyes, mouth, ears and nose, you'll notice four or five (+) variants for type. The higher the number, the more wrinkled or "aged" that option becomes. Check the non sculpting options (sorry, forgot the menu name. It's the one with makeup and blemishes etc.) Go through and see if any of those are selected. I know one of the options (I think in Blemishes) adds the thick lines above each side of your mouth.

For whatever reason I like using the No. 6 Character. Her skin initially is, I believe sun-burned. I also am rather partial to the platinum blonde hair color, to which I generally add a long hair style. As for the eyes I like using the wide-eye look, but have yet to figure out how to make them bigger; and, the same with the lips. The sculpting tool is difficult to figure out. I used to paint landscapes in oils, back when I could afford the paint, but I have never been good at using a mouse for a paint brush. It's hard to paint happy little trees with a rock, if you catch my meaning.

All that said, however, I sincerely appreciate your feedback. Thanks again.

Being a little sarcastic are we? Incidentally, I was successful in making my character look at least five years younger.
