Your best weapon ever

Post » Wed Nov 20, 2013 8:01 pm

What's your favorite weapon across all video games you've ever played? Not necessarily the best looking or most powerful, but the one you enjoyed using the most.

Mine is the nano-tech sword in Deus Ex 1. It was so great for stealth and cool glowing. And a lot of one hit kills btw.

Probably the scoped VSS rifle in Stalker. I enjoyed being able to quietly shoot zombies in the head from a safe distance.

Light of Dawn from Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. Great looking weapon with the ability to power it up by killing vampires. There was a really good fight before getting it too, and I always tried to do it as low a level as I could. I used it through probably 90% of my hours in that game.

That or Umbra from (I think it was called) Mighty Umbra mod for Oblivion. Another great looking weapon, cool side effects and a difficult quest line to master them. A huge improvement over the original.

Sunder was great in Morrowind, too. Once I got my Blunt Weapon skill up, anyway, because I never took it as a major or minor.

I heavily enjoyed biotics in ME3 (both SP an MP) but that's not really a "weapon."

I'd go with the hidden blades in the Assassin's Creed series, specifically Ezio's double blades in AC:II.

Mosin Nagant 91/30, mostly because I own one, and it's my favorite rifle.

So many to choose from, so I'll list a few of the best in no particular order.

Golden Gun: no 007 game is complete without it. It's "THE" gun of small firearms.

http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130520184011/nintendo/en/images/e/e0/Goldengun.jpg

Farsight XR-20: Such a fun gun to use, really hard to not love it (and hate it if you're on the receiving end). Could see through walls and vary distance while scrolling as fast as you want, or automatically track people but not as fast as they could run.

A Purple "Thing": In Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, you could get a special melee weapon from the locker room at the police station. It was purple, it was big, and it was thick. What the cops did with it we don't really want to know, but it's awesome to hit people with.
I will not post a link to a picture of it because it's probably not allowed. Find it yourself on google.

Lightsaber: Most Star Wars games have one, and if it doesn't there is a good reason why it doesn't. Still any good lightsaber mechanic is just plain fun.

BFG9000: The start of it all with ridiculous weapons in games.

Wrench from Bioshock. Because when you're out of ammo, you still have a wrench.

Is that from Skyrim? I've seen quite a few videos of Skyrim and I didn't know there was a canon sword for the protagonist.

Thor's Hammer in "Tomb Raider: Underworld" is like the Gravity Hammer but about 100 times more powerful.

Oathkeeper and Oblivion (Kingdom Hearts II; using them simultaneously).
Wabbajack (Skyrim).
The Thu'um (Skyrim).
I like the weapon designs in FFXIII.
The guns in FFXII were quite amusing when I first played the game.

I'll think of more later.

The Terrible Shotgun - Fallout 3 - I will never forget the first time I found this weapon and used it. The sheer damage at mid/close range on everything made this my favorite weapon of the game. It's not the most powerful, but boy, does it pack a punch. Heads come off Deathclaws cleanly with this beauty.

I was sorely disappointed when FONV didn't have it. :(

Is not bad choice comrade, use as gun and fix with hammer is good. Use as hammer and fix with gun no problem.

Course with the bayonette on it is taller than my fiance...

Favourite video game weapon... Hmm

Bazooka: Worms 3D or maybe Flamethrower in TF2

In real life:

My AR-15 seen here---> http://i413.photobucket.com/albums/pp212/sbcmarine81/Mobile%20Uploads/MyAR15_zpsc6abde69.jpg .

M1 Garand-The rifle that won WWII.

In video games (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) mostly:

CM 901.

M4.

G36.

ACR. 6.8

.50 Cal Berret.

Most of these are either powerful or have quick reloading times without the use of slide of hand perk.

Nagant, Garand and Enfield all played their role

Of the three I'm not sure which is my favourite to shoot

I'm a lefty so I prefer the Garand and Mosin (straight bolt is easier to work than a bent bolt for me)
