Your biggest regrets in Skyrim?

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 4:14 pm

Have you ever done something in Skyrim, and later down the road you think to yourself, "Man, I kind of wish I didn't do that..." or "Maybe I didn't have to kill that guy..."

Or maybe something on a grander scale. For me, I regret joining the Dark Brotherhood with my Imperial. She's my main, so I figured I'd just do everything on her. All the factions, max out all skills, my go-to character. But I wish I didn't do the Brotherhood. I did it very early with my character, when she was like 10, and now I got her all the way up to 65 (One hell of a journey, let me tell you what).

*Dark Brotherhood spoilers ahead*

But long after I finished the Brotherhood, I joined the Imperial Legion. Mid way through the quest line, I thought to myself, "Wait a minute...I killed the Emperor...the Emperor...and his cousin...and his commander...and a bunch of other Imperials...and I just get away, scott-free? No one even notices?" Since then, it never felt right.

I also would have cured her lycanthropy by now, if being a werewolf wasn't so damn fun.

What's your biggest regret, assuming to have any?

Yes. There will always be one.

Spoiler
The Civil War (BATTLE FOR WHITERUN)

I wish I didn't do that cause it Destroyed Heimskr's house and I couldn't do a thieves guild quest cause of it.

Stealing too much from Balgruf's quarters. Now they're all chasing me all the way to Windhelm: Balgruf, his ugly guard woman, Adrienne, her father, a few guards, I think I saw Nazeem too /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I regret not getting a finisher on Ulfric.

Ah, that would have been satisfying.

That lovely quicksave + quick load button mostly wipes away any regrets /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I didnt regret any of the questlines, since i only play the questlines with the suitable roleplaying character (evil assassin character plays DB and thieves guild questline)

...i regretted playing through the college of winterhold questline twice though. It was horrible on both playthroughs.

I regret all those dialogue options and choices that make a Dragonborn come across as an idiot.

Example:
Spoiler

Of course Karliah, I will take your word on everything. Why yes, selling my soul to a Daedric Prince to gain something... well, I'm pretty sure it was something, is a fantastic idea.

Dragonborn to Mercer: "But I have honor!"

I regret killing Anano on my main character who is a Thalmor. Also, becoming Arch-Mage kind of ruins roleplaying for me, and I now try to avoid the place.

With a few characters there are some.
- My first one had hard feelings about the Battle of Whiterun. It was necessary battle and he was upset to see his friend Balgruuf to side with the imperials.
- My first imperial grew very much during his journey and started to respect his roots (he was partly Nord but never cared about that before) and learned the sacred trials of Kyne and so he started to regret he took a side with the legion. Unwillingly he took part in the Battle of Windhelm because it was too late to turn back anymore. Peace was needed in Skyrim with any prize. When Tullius had a speech and revealed they will profane Ulfrics body and not to give him proper burials he left Windhelm and the legion immediately and threw his imperial helm in forge during his walk to the main gate.
- One of my warrior Nords went too deeply in the civil war which made him to kill traitors who sided the Empire. So he ended up to kill the Battle-Born family (and a couple guards who tried to save them). Killing them all wasn't the thing he regret but when he did so Lars came there and saw everything and so my Nord had no other choice than kill him too. That thing has bothered him since.

Molag's quest.

I'm restarting the character, and I won't be touching his quest ever again, unless I have an evil character or something.

*never done Namira's quest, but if I did, it would probably be listed also*

Regrets? No.
Why? Because nothing you do has any real consequence.

Uthgerd the Unbroken died and I didn't reload. She was the perfect follower for my main character. I replaced her with Iona (Riften housecarl), but she isn't as great.
