Your charicter is a synth, here is my logic

Post » Sat Jan 09, 2016 2:48 am

You can only see a pixleated image while playing as your charicter therefore your eyes are infact digital cameras. It makes since because Gen 3 Synths have the same metal skeletal structure as the Gen 1 Synths so it is safe to assume they also use the same digital imaging eye balls as well that can be seen on Nick Valentine and other Gen 1s and 2s. Also you never need to blink, eat, sleep, drink, or go to the bath room yet the world has toilets, beds, and food.

He says that the protagonist is not human, as he doesn't have basic needs like feeling thirst, hunger or being tired. But if that was the case then I say that Commander Shepard was a termintor - always showing 0 emotion lol

My god. How far does the Institute's influence reach!!! We are all their puppets!!!!

Honestly though. I had hoped that our character was actually a synth and that the cryopots actually didn't work quite so well over all those years. I also wish they would have gone more with the infiltration stuff. Imagine fighting the infiltration for the first half of the game only to later discover that you were a sleeper all along. That together withe Shaun twist would have blown at least my mind at least a little bit. I had already expected that more time had passed right after I left the cryopod.

So "Shaun" (if that is indeed his name) made a synth parent?

Mind = blown

This actually makes some sense to me. One thing I thought was really strange that I picked up from the first meeting with Shaun is he says something about knowing you were in that vault and treated it like an experiment to see if you would make it as far as we did. During that same talk he also mentions how he never really gave his parents any thought yet latter on will tell you how he would think about his parents all the time at night trying to sleep. So which is it? The only thing is why would the Institute do this what was the gain they were looking for. There is no way to know we would meet up with the Railroad or even join him, as far as I know they didn't know the BoS was coming or that we would hook up with them. The minutemen are not even a blimp on the radar so it doesn't make any sense to do this other than to say they did. Maybe it could have something to do with memory transfer but that seems to have already been figured out years before. I am not even sold on the fact that Shaun is who he claims to be. First thing I would have called for is a DNA test, maybe Maury is still around in ghoul form and we can get his show back on the air!!

This actually sound less plausible as I read it. Honestly, pixels=tv screen, not needing to eat/drink/sleep=fake world. The correct theory is that the entire game is nothing more than the SS reliving their memories of the events of the game in the memory lounger.

this is satire/joking, by the way. Anyone can come up with a crakpot theory using very little evidence.

He made a child, so making a parent wouldn't be far fetched. Honestly if what happened to Danse is any indication it would be quite easy for you to have been replace while frozen and given fake memories ... or even have your real memories transferred since that is possible also.

Doesn't really change anything though unless your character (or the BoS) find out about it.

If I am a Synth then why didn't they use the recall code on me after I put a bullet in Fathers head and before I nuked the place? Makes no sense.

That was merely an Institute outpost, meant to be expendible in case the experiment went awry. The SS is already apparantly superhuman, so trying the recall code would end in gunfire, considering how long those things are.

"Unit S5-82, Factory re-" *headshotted*

Really though, for everything the Institute is supposed to be, that place feels incredibly small.

Because the only merits this theory has are gameplay mechanics and issues.

The character is NOT a synth...here's a simple reason why...you huff n puff when you run, which means you are breathing...synths don't breathe....if you ever observe a synth 'sleeping' you'll notice they are not breathing, but humans you can clearly see are breathing when they are sleeping...go to the railroad and watch tinker tom and glory sleep if you don't believe me..

That's even weirder because Tinker Tom is a human. He must have sleep apnea, you should probably warn him about the dangers.

That's what I'm getting at..

Tinker Tom=human...you can tell he's sleeping

Glory (and others)=synths...when you watch them sleep they look dead..

Your character runs out of breath when running and after holding breath too long on scope, and also when under water (without perk of course)...the protagonist is not a synth..

Synths actually have lungs and require oxygen, Curie has to be taught to breathe upon taking over the Gen3 body. Gen3's are also capable of getting sick. It's mentioned on the robotics upgrade terminal that the next blood upgrade will reduce the chance of infections (implying that it's not 0% obviously).

Glory also doesn't have a synth component like every other synth in the game which is odd to say the least.

Father could have created the SS off-the-books as a synth using his parent's memories from the frozen brain. So the SS is basically just like Valentine except in a Gen3 body. Valentine even mentions to the SS that he could be a synth but if he was he would never know. Father said releasing the SS was an experiment and in every experiment there has to be a control group. So he makes a synth and releases it to see how far it will get because he didn't want to risk his actual still frozen parent.

what if glory is not a sinth o.o . adding to your point: synths are made to replicate EXACT human actions and interactions

Every time I get my limbs blown off and blood splatters everywhere and I have to reload... yeah... I don't think the protagonist is a synth.

Synths have blood and a skeletal structure and are capable of losing limbs, they're indistinguishable from humans except
for 1 tiny part. There are many synths that don't think that they're synths so that's understandable.

If you're a synth then why would you choke and gasp for breath after being thawed out in the beginning? Adding to that, how would you drown and why does radiation damage you?

You're a human and the lack of basic needs is a lack of hardcoe mode, nothing more.

You're thinking of Gen2's. Gen3's are made from synthetic organics and need to breathe evidenced by Curie who didn't realize she needed to breathe when transferred into the Gen3 body. The SS can even get around this limitation eventually.

Gen3's are immune to radiation but since the character suffers no long term or even cosmetic effects from radiation exposure. This can be explained by simple programming of psychosomatic responses.

Gen1's and Gen2's were mechanical so have some advantages over their organic counterparts.
