~Story~
He is going to be a nice character who fights dark evil forces to help the good and he joined the Dawnguard in order to help do so, and go thru the Dawnguard storyline. He doesn't take Lord Harkon's side cause he is against him. He doesn't kill Serana because he can "see the good in her". However, he was quite a coward when he needed to enter the Soul Cairn so instead of risking his soul, he allowed Serana to turn him. From there, he was stuck as such a creature but ended up saving Skyrim by killing Lord Harkon. However, from there no one trusted him. Not even the Dawnguard due to him being a Vampire. He didn't knew how to cure himself and went alone from there onward, wishing he can continue to be the Hero but can never do so for those he wishes to save fears him greatly...

Why? For one, the song can be used for this character easily. Mando may have made it for Luna but due to the lyrics, the song truly has no connections at all to MLP in general. Two, the song mentions that the singer is alone but wishes to be the one that those look up to. Also the song mentions that the singer took a wrong path, in this case, the wrong path is being a coward and becoming a vampire. Also the singer is ashamed for being a coward. The singer also mentions a "her" who he seemed to put blame on for who he is known as. In this case, her is being Serana. Etc. I think you should get it now.
