As the title implies, I want to know what your take is on the Steam Workshop, and it's role with modders and mod enthusiasts.

Another thing I would definitely like to get some opinions on are the new additions to steam where you can purchase software. Having looked at some of the software, the price tags are definitely a main concern for me. One application is $99 for the regular version, but costs a person $350 for the professional version. The downside is you need the professional version (commercial license) to actually sell your materials outside Steam Workshop (can earn money through TF2 apparently, but that's it).
