Your ways for easy and unlimited money

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 3:00 am

What methods do you guys use for easy large quantities of gold (without cheating or using cheap mods). The method I use is below:
-It requires you to be a somewhat high level (you have to be able to kill a single high ordinator) and requires the Tribunal expansion. You go into the Mournhold weapon shop in the Great Bazaar. There is a single high ordinator in there who respawns. Kill him once and you will get a bounty for assault and murder, sell him armorer to the shop keeper (who has 10k gold a day) and then pay the fine. Go back in the shop wait 24 hours and he will respawn and attack you kill him again and sell his armor (the shopkeepers gold will also have restocked). Everyday he will respawn and attack you. Since he attacks you there will be no bounties. You can kill him once a day and sell his armor to the merchants in the area who conveniently have large amounts of gold (High Ordinator armor is very expensive). This will give you unlimited High Ordinator armor and unlimited gold. And you will face no further bounties (after the initial one) or penalties with the temple or Tribunal questline.
The only thing to watch out for is if you go back into the shop weeks later after doing this he will attack you and it may catch you off-guard becasue you are not thinking of it.

So that's my way, what is yours?

Selling soul gems to Creeper. Also Sixth House Amulets. At 2000 a pop, those things add up.

This is so cheap even I don't do it but you can commit mass murder on Soultrap-glitched Golden Saints or Dremoras and loot them for glass, ebony and Daedric weapons.

(I do mass murders and all but purely for soul gems)

I have been known to slay Ordinators for their Indoril Armor, but it's been a while since I've actually considered it a source of income. It makes you an outlaw, but you can make a lot of money that way. I can't remember if regular Imperial guards have you for a death warrant, but the Ordinators sure won't like you much.

Buy 500 of each "Restore Health" ingredients from the shrine in Balmora. Make the potions. Sell 10 potions to get your money back. Sell the rest for mass profit. Keep 20-30 of them for use.

Make about a thousand of the above potions and trade some of them for Ra’Virr’s Fiend Tantos. Then trade some of the swords for Gelbedir’s scrolls. Visit all of the NPC’s that barter in Mournhold and sell everything (the swords and scrolls are for anyone who won’t buy the potions). You can make about 50,000 drakes in a few minutes of real time and it works every game day (you can make another 10,000 in Balmora).

kill ra'virr the trader in balmora and sell all of his "demon weapons" to creeper. a nice 7k. and in the big manor that creeper is in, you will find some orcish armor in a crate, and no one really cares it you take it and sell it.

Kill the respawing assasins under mournhold, and sell their gear to Creeper. I can make 100,000 in a half an hour that way, depending on the quality of their daggers.

Visit daedra shrines or walk through the grazelands looking for dremora and golden saints.

The problem for me, without modding the game, is still to figure out an efficient way to sell the loot for the best price; say establishing a trade route of selected merchantts. I haven't decided if one should start by selling the cheap stuff first working your way up or with the expensive stuff and working your way down; my instincts say it would be more efficient to start with the high priced stuff.

FWIW, I have modded my game to give Creeper more gold, say enough to buy one daedraic short sword but not to the point that it takes the fun out of trading with other merchants or thinking what's the best strategy to dump the loot with the different merchants.

Sell a 10k item for 10k gold, next day sell another 10k item, next day sell a 30k item for 10k gold + 2x10k items from the previous days. So from cheaper to heavier. This way one can sell daedric weapons for full price to anyone(adjusted with barter). But still potions are better. They weight nothing, almost everyone buys them, and since they are cheap, every merchant can be dried out of his gold and totally on the run without bothering with merchant routes. Its so powerful i dont sell selfmade potions at all. Like totally broken.

I agree. That's why I have a house rule that I don't sell self-made potions; I either drink them or remove them.

I do something like this with the mudcrab merchant. He restocks Sujamma so I'll make a transaction like a full High Ordinator suit for 15000 Sujamma, drink enough not to be overencumbered, then sell it to everyone with enough money to make it worth my while.

My way for unlimited money? I just play the game. By the time I leave Seyda need I've amassed around 2,000 gold and it just continues to rise after I join one of the guilds and start really getting out there and adventuring. I also sell excess potions while I'm leveling up my Alchemy skill.

Wow, thats an excellent idea thanks. Generic potions as currency replacer. Hmm does the creeper restock anything? Dont wanna run for the crab every time.

Why do you need huge amounts of money? There's absolutely nothing to spend it on when there's so much free stuff lying around for you to use/resell. After the first 100K it got old for me, and I ended up just dumping my first half a mill in a crate.

I'm currently remodding my game basically to take a zero off Daedric, ebony and glass weapons and armour, because the stuff is so overpriced it's ridiculous. (It's not that rare - the silly huge pile of them I have from adventuring legitimately, cleaning out Daedric shrines etc., says so.) I know it's gonna make bartering more fun for me, since I'll actually be able to sell the d*mn stuff and not have to plan my adventuring around daily trips to the Creeper any more (and wasting a teleport mark in Ghorak Manor).

After the MQ, Vivec tells you to do good for the people, so I give the money away in bribes. I also go into the House vaults and deposit gear and money. You just RP it.

I make a little run between a tomb near coldera and creeper, This is A LONG POST beware

1. Go to Tomb

2. Kill the deadra there, loot and Remove the bodys - this is important for the next step

4. Exit and rest for an Hour outside the tomb and renter the tomb

6. If you deleted the bodys the deadra will respawn

7. Repeat until full of loot

8.return to creeper

Now for the money making part

Sell an Item that is over 5000 gold

Then BUY items so the total sold = 5000

end transaction

wait a day so creeper will get his money back

sell Bought items

If done right you can get full price for any item

Here is an example

I sell a dadric dagger (10,000 gold) to creeper
I then BUY a Glass dagger (4,000) and dark brotherhood chest armor (1,000)
end transaction and wait 24 hours Profit +5000 gold
Sell the glass dagger and armor back to creeper (5000)
end transaction
Profit - 10,000 Gold

A bit long winded and hard to explain but worth it you can get 100 to 200 thousand gold this way to use on nothing YAY
