Your 2 Weapon Load Outs ?

Post » Fri Aug 16, 2013 11:40 pm

At level 15 you get your weapon swap ability. Just curious what everyone plans on using with their main character?

I will be endgame PVP focus and go old school assassin build with duel weild daggers. I was thinking Bow as secondary But now i think i will try sword/shield. the idea would be to open with sneak attack in duel weild and keep laying on damage, especially if they try to run or cast on me. If they try to engage me in melee then I would switch to sword / shield and should be able to finish them off defensively since I already had a huge damage jump on them.

Think this would work? thoughts?

I like stealth + bow a lot better than dagger thief, because as we all know, the longer we're in sneak the more stamina we use, so I would hate to have to walk up to someone just to kill them, I'll probably major in bow and minor in daggers.

Most likely I'm going to have my first weapon set as a destruction staff and my second weapon set be two handed swords. That way I can switch between ranged and melee DPS and take advantage of both my stamina and magicka pools for abilities.

The Destruction Staff is going to be paired with abilities that summon, do AoE damage, and knock back/CC. That way I can keep people away from me, control the group (be it NPCs or Players), and do damage to more than one person. If people get close, I'll switch to dual wield with abilities focused on doing damage close up...and maybe another summons.

the use invisibility as a start before my attacks of course and then ...

1) I prefer the use of 2 (small) daggers

(hopefully the small daggers that were present in morrowind will be among the options available)

2) in addition to having 2 dremora summoned as my side companions (yes I know they are not in game yet but might be available in later expansion)

3) casting fire during hits periodicly for additional damage

(hopefully 5 second paralyze can be added to my daggers to give some extra time for me to make additional damage)

and as much enchantments as is allowed to be applied to my daggers

While i have always like archers as well as assassin types i kinda feel that if i have a bow i am going to be trying to open with it instead of going in for the backstab. As for sneaking only moving in sneak uses stamina standing still actually regenerates it, so i would be ambushing alot, waiting at bridges and gates, trees along the path. If they do make it so you can perk in sneak to use less stamina i would do that. if however its just too hard to play an assassin because of stamina usage i would probably switch over to bow as main and melee for backup

I think for me, Shield + Sword / Shield + Restoration or Destruction Staff.

As carrying a shield, and then a staff on your back and a sword sheathed on your hip seems plausible. I think.

Switching between stamina and magika weapons is a good idea. One thing to keep in mind tho is all your CLASS abilities (currently) use magika as well (even melee style abilities). So for me on my Nightblade a certain couple of class abilities will be draining what magika i have quite often so it would be tough for me to try to use staff spells aswell. But i would be focused on perking in stamina / health and wearing medium armor

Staves are two handed. It a different weapon set than "one handed with shield."

Oh right, no idea what I'll do then. I wanted Sword + Shield, but I don't particularly like the thought of the shield disappearing when I change load outs. I'll just have the one load out I suppose.

Main weapon will be a Destruction staff, and I will swap to a restoration staff for healing. If they do end up having those rune one handed weapons I might use those instead, we don't know all the possibilities yet I don't think.

That's so odd.

So does using a staff cost stamina?

Could open with a 2 hander then switch to DW. Use dodge/block after that for defense.

Myself Templar s/s with 2 hander as 2nd going to go far a pally build. Hopefully they have some cool support skill lines that you can get. While I know I won't be twisting chants would like to get close to the pally in DAoC but with better dps lol. Might end up with more of a S/S friar type build though which would be fine as long as I have decent dps with 2 hand.

interesting. .. this may cause a problem for staff users .. especially targeted wizards and sorcerers who love stealth

2H Sword and Destruction Staff, I like to Melee, I like to Cast, I wanna switch between the two. I'm also happy to see staves will be much more useful in eso, in all the single player games all staves did was cast the spells you could already cast with charges instead of mana, I never used a staff at all in those games <_< Now it looks like the staves give you basic damage and healing attacks you can use to add on to your spell casting, sounds like a great way to do it to me!

From the weapon ability list that was shown last month all staff abilities use magicka. Light armor has one ability that uses magika, as where medium and heavy armor's abilities use stamina

I thought about that, go 2hand open crit damage like my ShadowBlade did. But i have a feeling it will work more like it does in SKyrim. There 2hand didnt really get much of a sneak attack damage bonus and it also penalized your stealth and made it easy for you to be spotted. 1hand had 6X sneak attack damage bonus, and Dagger got a 15X bonus. Now i Know they wont be like that in ESO but i think they will give something similar to dagger and maybe 1hand weapons.

He was using the basic left click mouse attack which uses no stamina or magika for any weapons
