YouTube---you're getting on my Bad Side >:(!

Post » Sun Jun 30, 2013 10:26 pm

There's probably threads about this but I like to get this off my back....(ahem). YOUTUBE YOU'RE PISSING ME OFF!!!! I swear YouTube's copyright protection is really starting to get under my skin----here's what happened.

I was making Star Wars stop motion animation using my Star Wars figures and ships---I spend hours making and editing these and I thought if you used music that's copyrighted and acknowledged it, your videos are safe. Not so in my case as all my Star Wars videos where flagged and I had to remove them...all that work down the toilet. I'm not even getting any money for it and now I don't have anything to use as a filler. UGH if this keeps going I'm ending my YouTube account and finding another hobby...end of line...

Could you re-edit your video and replace the background music with something that isnt copyrighted? Maybe something SW themed from OCRemix maybe?

Disney owns Star Wars now right? Don't expect any leniency from them.

Post the video on a website that isn't controlled by copyright nazis.

My Dad said the same thing when I told him :D...I could if I had the right equipment to record my own music from my keyboard but I'm not professional keyboardist. Oh I can play the keyboard, I'm just not a professional at it .

Grrrr.....Disney....

I wish I could find one :(.

Just hum the music. They cannot put a copyright law on your body! :P

As I mentioned, you could try OCRemix. Its a site with basically copyright free music (provided you credit the composer in your description I believe) that people have made. It's essentially fan-fiction for games, but with music. You might find some nice stuff on there.

Dailymotion is a site that has really lenient copyright rules. Only place I was able to find the hilarious Singapore dub of Yu-Gi-Oh in full episodes.
