2011, November, 2012, EPICOSITY

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:33 pm

October has just passed and was the second most anticipated month of 2011, with releases such as;
Rage, Infamous 2, Gears of War 3, Arkham City, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Battlefield 3, Dead Island, ect. And that was only scratching the surface of what this year as ready for us.
This year has been very eventful with the major flop and disappointment at the start of the year with MindJack with such a great concept but handled incredibly poorly. To the years redeeming title. Mortal Kombat 9 (which sadly we in Australia never got to experience).
Plus the releases of Brink, Portal 2, Crysis 2 and a few others along the way.
But now it's November the biggest month of the year. With some of the THE!!! most anticipated games of the year. Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations, MW3 (for some), Saints Row: The Third and last but not least the biggest title of the year SKYRIM!!! only a few more days until this masterpiece is finally inserted into our consoles, generating astronomical amounts of ecstasy and euphoria while we get get lost in the marvelous world battling Dragons and monsters, exploring caves, dungeons, ruins, meeting amazing people along the way even get married and start a family ().
But once it comes and goes It's 2012 before we know it and a new year with a new batch of games we are anticipating on.

So to end my nonsensical ramblings, I must end with a question.

My fellow gamers, what fantastic titles to you seek to own in the following year "2012"?
My personal most anticipated games for that year are. GTA5, Farcry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Max Payne 3, Borderlands 2 and of course Prey 2.
Those are mine. Please tell me yours.

Mass Effect 3 can't come fast enough. I'm a slave to that franchise. A SLAVE, I tell you!

Skyrim is the only game in the world with the potential to svck me in and save me from the agony of that wait.

Ok, so maybe this happens every year. But this is the first year I can remember actually being excited about new game releases. So is this the best year in a long time for games, or am I just paying more attention?

I'm thinking about games such as:
MW3
BF3 (ok, so this one is already out)
Saints Row the Third
Skyrim (only game in I've ever pre-ordered)

I'm sure I've missed a few and named some a lot of people wont care about, but I really have to wonder if this isn't just the best year for games yet :D

EDIT: Bleh, sorry mods, completely missed this thread. Thanks for moving mine :)

2011 has been a good year for gaming (definitely one of the better ones of this generation), but at the same time it hasn't quite lived upto the high expectations I had when looking at all the upcoming games at the start of the year. Quite a few games I expected to be amazing ended up being rather mediocre.

All that's really left for me this year is Skyrim. Once that's out of the way, bring on 2012 and GTA V, Thief 4, Kingdoms of Amalur, ME3, etc.

I think Skyrim's announcement rekindled my love of gaming and made me follow almost every game release, the majority of which I probably won't get for a few years yet, with anticipation. Funny because I had more things to do this year too, in terms of other things.

I have also been using game informer (a website I had previously never even heard about till Skyrim was featured in it) a lot to check gaming news, though when the new title drops I bet I won't be following it as much (if at all).
