2012?

I'm sure you have heard about the whole end of the 2012 thing. Just wondering what you thought about it, I honestly don't believe it.

That's what I'm thinking. We can never turn our head to the side without seeing a new one, but seeing how we're still here it hasn't happened yet.

I'd say buy the PS3 version. Just ask her out. Wait, what? End of 2012? Will that run on my computer?

Then he'll claim he miscalculated again and the next time it'll be the end for sure.

I know none of these are true, but the 2012 thing seems to be the "big" end of the world prediction. Even though I know after that there will be another date dug up from the history books that gets taken out of context.

My honest oppinion here is... "Who cares?"

I mean, let's say that in 2012 the world does suddenly blink out of existence. Will we notice? We would all be dead and gone. So I figure that whatever happens to the rest of the world won't be that high on anyone's list of priorities.

I don't believe this one, same as all the other ones I have heard over the years. Though I may use it as an oppertunity to pull a prank. Way back in 1999 everybody was scared of the "Millenium Bug". Planes were going to fall out of the sky, no electricity, anarchy etc.

I was at a party on new years eve and found the house's fuse box. At the stroke of midnight, a 16 year old Kettle shuts off the power and causes 10 minutes of drunken panic before someone looked out of a window and saw the lights were still on across the street. Still makes me chuckle now :D

Way to go. You've permanently ingrained, in to my mind, a desire to mess with people any time a predicted apocalypse date draws near.

Prophecies and the like are stupid.

You should have acted.
They're already here.
The Elder Scrolls told of their return.
Their defeat was merely delay
Til the time after Oblivion opened,
When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood.
But no-one wanted to believe.
Believe they even existed.
And when the truth finally dawns:
It dawns in fire.
But,
There's one they fear.
In their tongue, he's Dovahkiin:
Dragon Born!

i think http://read-y.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/MayanCalendar-300x300.jpg answers the question. but then there seems to a lot of things mentioning 2012 or around that time; something about sun spots storm, something about USA economy collapsing in the second half of 2011.... i don't know.

I don't pay attention to any of those doomsday prophesies.
My personal favorite is the Nibiru theory, thank god for Nancy Lieder and her implant that lets her recieve telepathic messages from the aliens to warm us

The date predicted for the end of the world, just happens to be on the day I graduate from year 10. :(

Anyway, I want to either join in on the looting, or laugh at them.

That date is approximately two months after my 18th birthday and halfway through my first semester of college. I'll be an advlt just in time for the end of the world! :P

If the world will end on december 21st 2012, I will buy all the forum members a beer.
And if it won't end, I will drink the beer all by myself.
