2105 a science based RPG

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 5:30 pm

I am developing a science based role playing game.

The year is 2105. America has been taken over. Europen Union is a leading world ruler. Dr. Peter Laxton inventor of many of the worlds best inventions -Virtual Video Games, teloportation gates, human DNA perfection, and much more has not been heard from for ten years. You awake to the sound of your personal robot telling you that your vitals are good for a man of 106. He suggests you change your appearance.

This prompts instantaneous character creation.
You can change sixes and looks but you retain the same name Warner. Depending on your six your name could be one of five girls names or five guys names.
Once creation is done. You receive a message and check your arm and the message appears out of your skin before you with voice. The man asks you to come to a certain location to meet him. You are free to leave your apartment and enter into the world. It shows hovering land. Moving streets robotic people and much more. It opens up and you are directed toward the meeting of this mysterious man. You decide to meet and see an old man before you. He seems harmless at first but if you try to attack him he will fight back. He is old gray haired walking with a cane. He hits you with his cane and you are transported to a room with many other people. He starts speaking to you all telling you that he wishes to enlist in your help. He wants you to find his daughter, bonnie. He teleports u back. Gives you a picture of his daughter and asks Wat class u are. Then you are left in an open world in the year 2105 to explore and start quests.

Your class choices are:
Spoiler

Soldier- highest offense, can use guns and acquire them easily

Chemist- can create chemical compounds used for attacking people can create fire, water, etc

Assassin- fastest character, can use small guns and blades

Medic- can heal yourself easily and others, immune to diseases

Civillian- mixed abilities, great speech, most innocent

Possibly two other classes

Leveling System:

Spoiler
A new leveling system base idea will be used to level characters. It uses an intriguing system with a combination of experience points, perk points with perk tree of sorts, and level to level skill increases. Your class determines which skills increase fastest, except for civilian where all skills increase at the same rate. Will describe more aspects later as the system gets finished.

SIZE:

Spoiler
What I would love to do with this game is make a complete replica of all of Europe using google mapping and satellite imagery but I will probably not do this as it is very time consuming. It would also be very big. Too big game wise most likely. I will however see if it is easily possible to do and if so it would be amazing. But most likely it will be only one small enclosed area. The small enclosed area would be a small part of Berlin or Vatican City.

FAQ:

Spoiler

What's the motivation to play, what makes this a world that the player would want to spend time in?

Very intriguing story. Game has three modes normal-can be easy medium or hard, creation-allows sole creation in game of lands, questing etc, and life mode- in life mode if you die it's game over ur save file deletes itself. It is a world filled with corruption and intregue. It is interesting to see an learn how this came about.

Are you looking to have the player spend x number of hours kill x number of people in a repetitive series of ways or is there the possibility to do something other than kill things?

You can kill and create and much more. The game kills cleanly though and probably will have teen rating as the creation aspect is what easily adds blood and gore among other things.

If you have the EU as the dominant power, who's the dominant member?

Dominant members of the European Union are these four: France, Germany, Italy and Spain with Germany and Italy being the two big power houses.

Any questions/suggestions? Would you like to help as well.

What does everyone think?

The European Union? USSR? Who exactly in Europe is the leader?

Who took over America?

You will find that out in the game. Lol. Would wanna spoil it but if the game goes well there might be a US version were the story is centralized in united states right before their invasion.

If you have the EU as the dominant power, who's the dominant member? Is it a case of France & Germany having a love in as is the case currently or have things shifted around?

So have you actually done any work on the game, other than that story?

That is an excellent question and yes I have started on a leveling system as well as some basic rudimentary concepts of gameplay.

Looked great at first, but you lost me when I saw that the EU wasn't being led by the Netherlands.
