About that 'hidden dwemer questline'..

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:33 am

You know that thread about the rumored hidden dwemer quest line that suposedly only 2 people have found?
Yeah i saw this post from EffeminaT on that thread:
''I believe I've discovered the beginning stage of this quest
(spoiler)
After completing Arniel Gane's quest, you have to take Keening, and travel to Blackreach. In the main area of Blackreach, somewhat near to the Silent City, there is a small path that leads under a natural stone bridge. There is a small opening under the bridge, and in the opening there are two pedestals. If you activate the pedestal on the left, Keening will be removed from your inventory and placed on the pedestal (note: if you want to try this out, save before doing it, because you can't get the dagger back after you do it). I've yet to find any item that can be placed on the right pedestal, but it definitely seems like there must be some cool secret that is revealed after finding the item.''
That's what he said, and i don't think he is lying, but i can't confirm because i don't have the game near me right now :P
Can someone confirm? And maybe take some pictures and/or film it so we can see?

Because i was thinking... If you can place Keening there, you should be able to place Sunder in the other pedestal(even though Sunder isn't in the game.. i think) and that will obviously activate something. I was thinking, maybe when you activate it you'll get the Wraithguard that will make you be able to use the otherwise unusable enchants on Keening!
It all does make sense... Unfortunately, all the ID's and stuff have already been found and thanks to noclipping, there are no unexplored areas on the map left... So this just HAVE to be a DLC, right? It all makes sense!

Please tell me if you think i'm correct..

Yeah i think it would be an awesome DLC!
And can you try to take a picture or film it if you can?

Hmm.. Ok.
I don't even know if this is true or not but i don't think this guy would be trolling.. He has been on the forums for quite some time! And that often indicates that that person is serious.. But can you search a little more? Maybe you'll find something interesting :P

There is a cell called BlackreachPumpingStation, coc on that cell puts you between some pipes and near some rock archways and bridges. There is also a "Pumping Station" door in the silent city, and "Silent Ruin" which shows up between them but is NOT named if you use the console searching for silent or ruin.

Edit: Silent ruin is also not silent, with a crimson nirnroot inside. Nothing else of note found and I must get ready for work now.

Effemmawhatever is lying as far as I can tell. I've never been to Blackreach, but all the people who were replying trying to find the so-called pedestals were unsuccessful.

Why? Just because we can't find it deosnt mean it isn't there?

Hmmm, I seem to recall a couple of pedestals in Blackreach. I DO remember looking at em and going "WTF is this for?"

I'll have to go back in at some point and clarify this, I could be just thinking of another dungeon.

Dude, this "sekrit dwemer questline" obviously is. Dude.
I don't think there is a hidden questline... Sure, this idea that i got came from that thread but what i'm saying is that if these pedestals actually excists and you can activate them, it would sureley be a future dlc..
And btw it's spelled secret... not sekrit

Spoiler
"There is a series of well-hidden quests in Skyrim that will allow you to accesss the "area" that the Dwemer are currently very much alive within. So far, according to hidden Steam achievements, only 2 people worldwide have discovered the quest chain. No one has completed it yet. It is unlikely that the people who have discovered it have even realized it, as I haven't seen any public discussion about the quest chain yet.The quest chain is not expounded upon in the official strategy guide. The quest chain is not randomized; it is accessed via a very specific set of player actions. The quest chain will not begin until you've completed a more well-known quest chain. The quest chain requires that two weapons be upgraded to their maximum. The quest chain features a sound puzzle. You won't even be aware of the puzzle's existence if your sound is muted. This may or may not be the reason why so few people have discovered the quest chain. We intentionally left this quest chain out of the official strategy guide in order to encourage old school word of mouth "secrets".This is why we've delayed the Creation Kit."

This one?

If this is what you are referring to, it came off of fourchan, and therefore could be made up by anyone.

I'd like to think it is true, however.

Because I'm tired of seeing yet another topic on this stupid rumor, especially as previous topics have been locked with the moderator saying "supply evidence or GTFO". More or less.

Seriously, reduce the white noise on this forum.

*types misleading into google* Giving the wrong idea or impression: "your article contains a number of misleading statements".

Hmm. I don't think it's misleading, I think it's a theory/an interesting idea on to what might be a questline.

Sure, it may be complete and utter lies, but speculation and theory never hurt someone on the forums did they?

By the way, I find it hilarious when people get angry at 'x' thread for being similar to 'y' thread. It obviously affects their lives so much.

This kind of reminds me of the infamous "GRD" helmet or whatever it was called on the Reach forums.
