And lets be fair. In real life, nothing "looks" irradiated. The only visible indicators are destruction caused by the nuclear explosion. Once all that is cleaned up, the area can still be irradiated, but you won't see any sign of that besides sick vegetation and animals - and as the city of Pripyat has showed us, within a decade plantlife will be thriving again, and animals abundant, while the radiation is still deadly enough to kill humans in the same area. Radiation doesn't tint an area green. You just have to "listen for the tick-tick-tickety of that Geiger counter, kiddies"!
Sidebar: Video games aren't supposed to be 'real'. It's a virtual reality which in some way or another depects a possible reality, part of that is visually showing you an irradiated-looking plant. It's not that a plant / body of water / strip of ground would actually look like that if it had been nuked; it's how it -should- look in a fantasy world.
Well maybe not so much irradiated as... not sure how to put this really. F:NV looks like it's going to be a fun game, but it just doesn't look like it's set after a nuclear apocalypse. We've got electricty, clear skies, a wasteland that looks exactly how it looks in today's real world, gambling (urban life) and what not. F:NV looks like a steam-punk wild west shooter to me; I'm in the market for desperate post-nuked world...
I'm thinking of Enstien's quote: "I know not what weapons WW3 will be fought with but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones"
And they're giving us a satelite weapon like the archemedies?
Frankly, I'm not seeing the novelty with this game. WHich is why I'm still debating if I want to buy it right away - I'm sure i'll buy it but I might wait for this one.
I mean really... What the frakin point of having a fantasy wasteland set in a wasteland?
Besides that, I'm going to miss picking around in the ruins of the capital building... national archives etc.
Are there even going to be ruins/metros to pick around in?
Caves and mines? seriously? why don't I just go pick up Call of Juarez.
Dunno, Hope i'm wrong. I hope F:NV really has that post-nuke feel. Right now I'm not seeing it though.
