So, about these tranformations.

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:22 pm

Forgive me if this has been answered already, I didn't see anything related in my searching but I can't help but wonder if the new transformations are going to be as bland as the werewolf transformation was. I can't tell you how much it crushed my level of immersion seeing my female characters warp into some androgynous musclebound werewolf mannequins with not so much as a fleck of their former gender being apparent. I didn't expect giant briasts or something but having both males and females look exactly the same was a huge let down.

Now, seeing these amazing vampire lords, I'm worried about the same thing. I'm not going to want to become one if my females are going to have to undergo a magical mastectomy and turn into male creatures again... At least with werewolves, they can get away with them looking similar because they're so bestial. These vampires are clearly male in appearance, or at least to me they look totally male.

I don't think it's too much to ask to have a slightly different model for males and females in both forms.

EDIT: Mind you, I haven't seen every bit of E3 coverage so if I'm wrong, or there's an article on this please lead me to it if you could.

EDIT 2: vsions posted this in response to my OP:

You need not worry

So, it's looking like the vampire transformation will be different for males and females, hopefully werewolves get the same. <3

From what I've seen I'd say yes. Third person only too.

I don't mind the third person thing but it's really upsetting to have to turn into a man to be a vampire lord. A thinner, feminine version would have been so nice and amazing to roleplay...

I so hope they do something different for females... I would buy the DLC twice if they did this.

Creatures are creatures, they are neither male nor female.

Yeah... I'd like to think that way but sadly it's not true. At least not with creatures that were once a species that had two genders, maybe a troll is neither but I doubt all vampires are hermaphroditic.

A vampire lord has nothing to do with humanity. It's just a monster; no gender.

Still not buying it, unless I read some lore in-game that says otherwise.

I honestly see nothing wrong with it. Just because something looks masculine, doesn't mean it's a male. Masculine in HUMAN standards can't compare to masculine in supernatural standards.

If you've ever played any Gears of War, and ever fought a Berserker, you'd know what I mean. Berserkers in Gears of War are female Locust.

Do any of these look Female to you:

Basically, just because werewolves in other media/lore might be masculine/feminine based on gender (WoW's Worgen for example differ by gender), doesn't mean the same holds true in TES lore, unless somebody else can verify otherwise?

You have made my evening, certainly. I cannot wait to see what is in store, I hope at some point female werewolves get a makeover too.

Neat. Thanks for the info! Is this going to apply to Werewolves too?

Also, are the Vampire Lord's abilities (specifically the bat form) something you can only do in your transformed state?

Loved the showcase of the Vampire Lord's powers by the way. Very good work.

I hope the wolves will get a bit of love too, I'd actually play a wolf build if they did.

I'm totally thinking of a sixy evil vampire woman draining folks of their lifeforces. :3

That's what I'm doing for my first run. I was watching Interview With a Vampire a little while ago and decided to make a vampire character, just my luck Dawnguard is announced a few days later.

That's an excellent idea, like only feed on males and such.

Hmm... What do you do about the pesky females with this build? Do you just kill them outright, or use Fear or Calm spells to make them leave you alone?

Or, you know, ask if they're the kind of succubus who "toys" with their victims. Painlessly.

Either brutally dispatch them or if you're playing it in a pro-female way, just calm them or something to prevent them from being harmed.
