Just reload to before you killed him? Do you have an autosave or something? He neccesary to start Peryites deadric quest, which you gain 'Spellbreaker'

I accidentally did this to a named guy behind a bandit fort, and had no idea I'd screwed up until I checked something about another quest said fort is part of. I was on my Mystic Archer, who tends to shoot first and the hell with asking questions, so when I saw what appeared to be three bandits sitting around a cooking fire I automatically took them out. That they did not react to my presence wasn't really a help, even though it's how a friendly would behave, since I had come out of a secret exit and was HIDDEN to them; since it's generally true that anyone in the vicinity of a hostile locale is hostile as well, I had no reason to assume otherwise and started shooting.

I've never blasted anyone at a Daedric shrine, though (save for Boethia's merry band of lunatics), since the fact they're there in the first place means I should probably be talking to them prior to contacting whichever of the daedra the shrine happens to belong to. It helps that I have a policy of killing only those people who I know to be an immediate threat, as it insures I check the situation out first.

And this is why we have all these stupid essential characters... sigh.

Maybe think before you randomly murder people or accept your consequences?

I killed the questgiver for Namira's ring :) Not by accident.. As a paladin its my duty to mash those people to the ground.. :)

But to the topic: Dont be so trigger happy and kill everything you see? :)

op i hate you and your ilk (maybe hate and ilk are too strong a word, but you are no friend of mine!), we should be able to kill ANYONE but we cant because you will go off and murder someone without thinking and then complain about it (even an off-hand complaint can screw over the entire game), maybe you should think before murdering a person. no offence

I killed him by accident also but only cause he was attacking me while I was killing a dragon. But I was still able to begin the Daedric mission by just finding the ingredients and activating the gold cauldron.
