Hang on, let me get this straight... You want to play it cheaply like that? Fire the laser once, wait 24 hours, repeat?
Sure, seems like the most fun way to do it for you, however consider it for a minute. If things went the way I wrote, you'd feel like you were working for something, and actually accomplishing it when you're done would be a good feeling. Invading the Mojave Wasteland with a mass murderer like this should have some limiation. And a 24 hour wait is just a waste of time when you can merely press Back and wait 24 hours...
Of course, it's just my opinion, however I think my logic makes more sense than yours in this case... no offense.
I won't wait 24 hours every time I use it... I'll just play along and if I try to use it later in battle and find out it hasn't gone a full day then I guess I'm [censored].

No offense but your idea just seems like too much work, going around hunting after a part for the laser to use it... Once...
Then just set off into the desert to hunt after another part...
I'd just end up not bothering with it.
Wouldn't get any feeling of accomplishment finding that part.
I'd go "[sarcasm]Yaaaay...[/sarcasm] Now I can FINALLY use that laser".
So I'm sorry but I can't find anything positive with it.
Trying to see it from your point of view but I just think of how it would be ingame and I let out a big sigh.
Sorry.
