If your playing on the 360 or ps3, do you think there will be an achievement for beating the game on hardcoe?

I would assume since that seems to be all the rage, beating games on their hardest difficulty tends to yield rewards. :tops:

It uses Steamworks and as I understand it, it will have the same achievements as the console versions, much like the Orange Box and Left 4 Dead.

It actually is confirmed. But I think if you change it from hardcoe to Normal at any time during the game (even for a second) you sacrifice the achievement.

If you change from hardcoe to normal, you can't turn hardcoe back on. You can only turn hardcoe on at the start of the game, and you get the achievement if you keep it on through the whole MQ. (At least that's how it has been described. Personally I wouldn't care if you could turn it on and off at will, but of course you wouldn't get the acievement if you did so.)

Actually, you can turn hardcoe mode on at any point during the game, but unless you do it at the start you most likely forfeit the achievement. I'm not sure if you can turn it off more than once.

If there is I'll make sure to do a hardcoe run of the game before I purchase any DLC. In Fallout 3 the DLC enemies were often horribly mismatched power-wise to the ones in the standard game. It created a situation where either the normal enemies would be too easy or I'd have to take lots and lots of stimpacks (if I had adjusted up the difficulty to make the standard game a challenge). Super mutant overlords with tri-beam laser rifles and ghoul reavers seem the worst matched.

I thought that was one of those new things called "Challenges" (Similar to the challenges in Borderlands).

If you start the game in hardcoe you can change it to casual, but can only do this once as i understand...you cant switch from hardcoe to casual willy nilly.

You sure? I've read that you can turn it off at any point if you're not enjoying it, but you only have one chance (at the start) to turn it on.

Anyway, we'll find out for certain in a couple months.

Yeah I remember reading about hardcoe being a trophy. Also breaking all casinos. I wonder if there's a trophy for not killing anyone. Strictly beating the game using boxing gloves, bean bags, etc. That would be challenging.

There's no turning hardcoe back on after it gets turned off. Mr. Sawyer confirmed it here.

I made the mistake of not saving before the important levels to allow adjusting karma to pick up all the alignment trophies in one pass. I ended up running 3 characters all the way up to level 30 before I finished the trophies.

I played three as well. Mine was voluntary though. :P
