Actors who have starred in more than one Marvel movie franch

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 5:31 am

Hey guys,

Being a new person here, I am sure a thread like this has been done before, but I'll take a chance anyway.

I was counting up all the actors I could think of who have had movie roles for at least two different movie franchises based on currently Marvel owned comics and graphic novels. My friends and I came up with SIX, although there is probably many more. The roles need not be those of heroes or main characters.

I am sure you'll list the six I can think of very quickly, but I also want to see those I didn't think of...

Indulge me!

Robert Down .Jr as Iron Man(Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Hulk )
Samuel .L Jackson as Nick Fury (Every recent Marvel movie except for Iron Man 2 and The Hulk)
If Medivh is right, Stan Lee.

Did the fella that played The Green Goblin in the first Spiderman movie have a role in another? As well as the newspaper manager?

I'm not a strong fan of Marvel at all, so I wouldn't know.

Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool in Xmen Origins, and he played Green Lantern.

Andy, your mixing franchises, brother.

Green Lantern is DC and not Marvel. The OP wants actors who played in several Marvel movies.

Anyway, the guy who played Captain America in Captain America and The Avengers also played The Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies.

And Samuel L. Jackson did play Nick Fury in Iron Man 2. I can't recall if he was in The Hulk with Edward Norton though, he may have been after the credits.

Also, Stan Lee has been in every Marvel movie.

And the fella who played in the first Spiderman was also in the second.

Do you mean the same actor playing different characters, or the same character in different franchises?

For the former I can only thing of the Captain America -> Human Torch connection and the Stan Lee appearances.

For the latter:

Howard Stark was in Iron Man 2 (as a recording) and Captain America. I wasn't paying enough attention to know if it was the same actor.

Agent Colson(I think that's his name, the SHIELD guy who wanted to debrief Stark in the first Iron Man) was in both Iron Man films, Thor and Captain America.

Nick Fury was in both Iron Man films and Capt. America.

Tony Stark appeared at the end of Incredible Hulk.

I tend not to count the six Marvel Cinematic films as separate. They were designed from the start to be crossover films, so those repeats were all intended.

However, Cap was also Torch from the fantastic four. That sort of repeat seems more like an interesting fact to me.

You sure? I saw Thor months ago so I could have forgotten, but I watched Hulk last week and I don't remember him showing up.

He's in the end, the credits scene (isn't he?)

No. No he's not. It's Stark and the general isn't it? Huh.

(This whole thought process just played out while I was typing, lol)

The post-credits cameo in the Hulk movie was Tony Stark, not Nick Fury. I think.

EDIT: Heh,

Fury is in after the credits on Thor. It's got the biggest hint to what'll happen in the Avengers in it

Spoiler

The old scientist guy is possessed by Loki and Nick Fury shows him an ancient device supposedly of "unlimited power"

Here's another interesting one: Captain America was in The Incredible Hulk. In fact, you could say the Hulk was instrumental to SHIELD getting Captain America (google it for spoilers)

Oh yeah, I forgot about the end scene in Thor.

I'm not sure you can count the Cap in Hulk one since the question specified actors, even though you see indication of his presence

I don't remember him being in any of the Xmen films.
Unless by all, you are referring to only those films that feature members of the Avengers.

Oh, and for those who wanted the actor who played the villain in the first spiderman, that was Willem Dafoe.

The same guy plays the Hulk (just the Hulk part) in literally all movies and TV shows that feature the Hulk.

I knew it was Defoe, I could see his face and hear his voice and I could picture him saying, "For a few seconds. This place was armegeddon (sp?). THERE WAS A FIRE FIGHT!!!!", but I just couldn't get the name out.

Now, as for the Cap being in The Hulk, which one was that, the one with Eric Bana or Edward Norton? The one with Norton was definitely the better Hulk.

And speaking of The Hulk, Mark Ruffalo svckS!!! I hate that guy, he's a terrible actor and everything I've ever seen him in reminds me of his crappy role in the TV show "six and the City" god, what a horrid show. Norton should've stayed on; hell I would've liked Bana reprise the role; he was decent enough.

The only tv Hulk I know of is Lou Ferigno.

Also, Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi and Rosemary Harris have been in all three Spiderman movies, along with whomever plays J Johnah Jameson.

I was wondering what made him not come back for this. What other popular movies has he been in lately that I may have missed?!?!

What makes him better then the other actors :stare:
Him not being in it makes me dislike the Avengers a little

Yeah, that's the guy. Ok, he's not in every one... But a http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002073/.

Also, that would be the amazing J.K. Simmons playing Jameson. He's in all of Jason Reitman's stuff as well.

Marvel dropped him for whatever reason. I haven't seen his Hulk movie, so I can't comment on Norton's performance, but in The Avengers I thought Ruffalo was pretty damn good as Banner, and the Hulk stole basically every scene he was in.

I don't think he was, I'm pretty sure Robert Downey Jr./Tony Stark was in the after credits though (recruiting)

Edit: Already answered :/ Probably should have read the entire thread first.
