So, can you only get two children, despite having numerous homes with numerous beds? Even if you're not really there to be a mother/father, giving them a home with a housecarl to watch over them would be nice.

There are some town i never even knew were here. even as long as i've been playing this game. the carriage is quite awesome.

Yes, I know they can't live there, which brings the next question: can kids follow you around, or do they just hang around your house once they're adopted?

No and no. You can adopt without being married, and kids stay at home or run around outside it including in holds.

The holds, and orphanage in riften. In the other holds you gotta look around to find them.

been to riften but I can't seem to adopt any without killing that woman and I didn't wanna do the dark brotherhood on this playthrough. can someone put up a name and hold of a kid that they got please?

Is there a list of adoptable children that have been added to the game? So far I only know of three:
A little boy in Dawnstar
A little girl in Windhelm
A little girl in Whiterun

Are there any others?

Go to whiterun by the tree, theres a girl. Windhelm has a flower girl by the gate in the back close to the grey quarter. Dawnstar has a boy running around between mines.
